yep, and thats the problem with free versions of any anti virus/malware
the definitions or code in the data base are OLD, known by hackers to be old and thus very easy for them to create new code to circumvent
I found the easiest way to deal with any virus or malware on my PC is to don't fool around and instead immediately restore the operating system to an earlier time, like one day
doing so does not delete any data in any of probably some 30 times i have done this on my own and others PCs, it just using the day earlier and thus clean, system
however, always makes sense to back up anything important prior to restoring
now having switched to Apple laptop, never had any attacks
