Recently took a job in Winslow, AZ. Plan on living in flagstaff. Anyone wanna take me out? Im a decently experienced trad leader, spent a bunch of time the past few years in Eldo, Lumpy, boulder canyon, etc. more importantly, i drink beer, and buy new friends beer. Anyone...

You should really consider living in Winslow, if you're going to work there. Think of all the gas money you'll save . . .
Plus, you have the Winslow Wall right there. We'll come to you.
Anyway, I live in Kayenta, apparently the only climber who does. I'm always up for climbing from Winslow, to Flag, to Sedona on the weekends, so send me an e-mail if you're needing a partner.

I'm always looking to get out. My wife and I moved from Golden, Co to Flagpole last year, the climbing has been great! Send me an email if you want to go climbing. Also, Google: Gnarbarian climbing.
By the way, I would say you want to live on the west side of Flag if possible.

Thx guys, im pretty stoked. Since ill be working in Winslow, i was thinking east flagstaff. But the job is 3 on 3 off, so a slightly longer commute is no huge deal.

I hope you like sport climbing and bouldering also- Flag has lots of both, along with some very nice and very strong climbers.

Good luck and have fun...kinda hard not to in Flag!

By the way, what kind of job did you take in Winslow that was worth relocating for?

Good choice, not living in Winslow. The Doctor and PennsylEnvy are great partners and good friends.

East Flag is probably a good choice for working in Windblow.

Live downtown. The more central the better.

Join the Gnarbarian facebook page and go to the next Gnar night.

so I am flying out to Flag this saturday to meet the people I work with and hopefully find an apartment. I think I will be there a week or so before I fly back to Denver and drive by with all my stuff for the final move. Probably gonna try to hit up a climbing gym and maybe grab a beer or three at least one night while I am out there.

Hope to meet some of ya'll!

Live in west flag, flagbrew is ok, bever street is mundane. mother road brewery puts them both to shame.

also check out the flagstaff climbing center on N san francisco. I havn't been to beta yet. the people at flag climbing center are nice. also there is a climbing group called the GNARBARIANS (greater northern arizona climbing somtheing or others) they are on facebook. it's a community of local climbers that meets, drinks beer, and talks about climbing among other things. a good place to meet new partners for sure.

mountain project has lots of great beta, but not all of it. most of the downtown shops including flagstaff climbing will have the local beta books.

canyoneering is also big up around the rim, there is a community there too.
