Our posts switched spots...how did that occur? I read that Nug post you did Phil and posted mine and when I looked, they'd reversed.
Whoooohhhhh.
BTW, sold my Glock just today, so I don't need one. Good luck with the new site.

MisterE, I have a kid home with the flu, I have a broken rib and a badly bruised kidney.
What should I be doing between medicine doses- lift weights?

I hope t*r will be let back into the fray soon. It would be a BIG shame for the Supertopo community to know a woman was silenced over this.
Ok… what the hell am I missing?
Was t*r given the boot?
What for?

Agreed Jingy - what the hell is going on here?
Can someone please post up a coherent summary of what happened, what she said and why she got the boot?
Not all of us were following the boobs thread believe it or not.

TR nuked the boobs thread. She was deactivated and her post was taken down. Then she came back as TR2 with a neener neener you can't ban me thread and was gone in minutes. This started a number of threads in which a number of people said that they were uncomfortable with the boobs thread, including one by tan slacks with a film about this kind of thing. Ultimately the boobs thread was yanked. One main complaint was that some of the pictures showed women who looked under aged. Whether they were or not was not fully debated. Its was the sexification of the underage look which was the problem.
I think thats it in a nutshell.
of course with multiple side stories.. LOL..

^^ from what I can gather (was away skiing), she posted a couple hundred (?) links to a nuke image on the boobs thread. Probably RJ nuked her, as multiple people opening the page would severely degrade site performance.
Kids these days.....
edit: thanks John M - glad I missed the rest of it.

Ho, the Drama!
I remember exactly where I was when the Loma Prieta earthquake hit. Like many here, we'll all remember where we were when we heard t*r got nuked...

I happen to agree with her 100%, not that it matters.
I hated that damn thread. I followed it very closely, knowing something dangerous would soon happen. Now we have collateral damage. It is a sad day...

Thanks John & Norton.
I stayed away from all of those stupid boob threads so didn't realize the drama that was going on.

Isn't the forum meant to be inclusive of all climbers?
I don't like gun threads... I feel left out.
each one of those photos was of a real human being, actually someone's daughter, sister, mother or wife
And brothers, fathers, uncles and sons!
How hard is it to not click on a thread you know will bother you?
I do it all the time.
My next thread that I start will feature my really weird nuts. Hope "she" checks it out!

I think everyone should remember that the likely cause was not her opinion regarding the Boobs thread. Her opinion is very valid. Protesting the thread by bombing it is not a reasonable response and I believe the correct action was taken by the moderator. That my 2 cents anyway.

Of course, if I was still a very young girl, I'd think differently too and empathize with...uhhh, T asterisk R ...I guess she's called, now asterisk2. She doesn't have a name I guess. Anyhow, she'll grow out of it - no worries
You do realize you're referring to a woman in her 30's, eh?

SC's post strikes close to my own feeling about this incident.
If the way to make a valid point is by throwing a tantrum - then I can't help but feel that someone has some maturing left to do in their life.
My issue with t*r is her consistently childish reactions to ideas that offend her - I have seen this same hissy fit approach from her for YEARS now on this site. In the beginning, I wrote it off as the typical dramatic angst of an early teen, but she is getting too old to keep playing that role.
Time to grow up little missy.

Susan, I understand and appreciate your point, "does the end justify the means? ... Does [destroying an offensive site] now set the standard for how to get rid of an "Off topic" thread one doesn't like or agree with?" However, I think the *boobs* thread went beyond simply one that was not "liked" or "agreed with." It crossed the line, clearly, for way too long. In my opinion (yes, I realize and appreciate that opinions differ), the thread was distasteful from the outset and disintegrated very quickly to disgusting, and then to unacceptable. Where bounds are crossed, the ends do justify means that are reasonable given the circumstances. LuckyPink, your point is valid. That is what it means to be American. White, black, brown, gay, female ... from the inception of this country all have challenged strangleholds and laws that were outdated, unfair, arbitrary. The means of challenge were at times brutal, not always within the law, but hindsight grants that such means were justified given the circumstances. Here, the SuperTopo administrators chose to establish a rule that says "engage in smut or child porn, and you stay in," but "nuke and you're out." This is backwards, can't be respected, and needs to be revisited. Its time Chris and the ST administrators reconsider where the outer limits of this forum lie.

t*r may or may not be admirable in so many ways -- who is? She is admirable for what she stood for in this instance.
