There is/was a purpose for this thread.
Not that long ago, when there were more climbers here telling tales, some people would start a thread, some good climbing stories would be told. Someone would say something controversial, like bringing up old animosities, or they would just start a pissing match with the OP. This would cause the person who started the thread to delete their first post, making it so that no one could continue on with the thread. Some people had put a lot of effort into writing down stories and they got pissed and stopped telling their stories.
So this thread became a kind of two edged warning. Don't put in a lot of effort on threads started by this person or that person,
and/or.. stop deleting threads with climbing content.
Yep.. I know. Climbers are weird. Welcome to the insanity.
