Good ones E, JTM, and Rincon. What breed is that survival?

All I want is to breathe and climb and eat and sleep.

Can't beat that, This just in... Gotta make it over to Shuteye one of these days. Looks stunning. Is there some backpacking in that area? I promised to take a non-climbing pal on a trip and am looking for potential locales. Then I can do some climbing recon too... and will definitely bring me bouldering shoes!

Cheers,
Eric

Eric, there is a lot of backpacking in the area. I would recommend Chain Lakes which is actually within Yosemite National Park. The trailhead starts close to some of Shuteye through Beasore road or Sky Ranch. I can give you all the info you'd need, my email is jross one eight three eight @ gmail. That's 1838, not the spelled out way. Car camping and day hikes are just as good. Would be cool to meet you Fletcher.

Thanks JTI. Appreciate it! I will write as soon as a chance.

I'd better contribute something here.

Not the best quality, since these are scans from an old happy snappy, I think. But evocative, at least for me:

Bear Creek Spire, marching across one of the Treasure Lakes, March 2000:

Semi-Noob, but good men all:

Another acquaintance said he'd meet us up there. A character and kind soul who was known for setting up portaledges 50 feet from the car and three feet off the ground. So I wasn't all that surprised when he failed to materialize!

A tip o' the tam-o-shanter to 10b4me for reminding me of this trip. It was our first together.
