On Tuesday January 15 Kevin Daniels,Trevor Anthes, and Kurt Wedberg climbed the Widow’s Tears in Yosemite Valley, the longest continuous ice climb in the contiguous 48 states.

The climb looks amazing. Apparently there's more to Yosemite than just rocks.

I borrowed 5 feet of barb wire. I should be able to front step with my new crampons.

Uh Kurt, Duane mentioned it only cause you spewed to him, and sent him photos. You failed to mention that it had 3 ascents prior to yours, making your 'rare' ascent actually not so rare this year and that you called a valley local to get enormous amounts of beta, not giving him any props, considering he probably, more than likely had the earliest recorded ascent of this route. Continue with your self aggrandizing deceit.

Otherwise nice job on a classic line.

I got a few shots of you guys from Pohono Bridge turnout, including a 45 minute time-lapse.

Here's a couple of photos of the viewfinder of my video camera.

Sweet! Dave dave dave jealousy is unbecoming. All of the mags are desperate for this stuff and monitor all the sites and blogs. Especially a 7 Summiteeer and 3 time Everest Summiteer form the North and the South Routes like Kurt Wedberg. Try to remember you can NEVER MAKE Yourself LOOK GOOD by trying to make someone else look BAD. Simply unbecoming. And of all the people in mountaineering I have met, Kurt is the MOST HUMBLE. Also, didn't notice a photo of him in the article either? By the by, is there a list somewhere of the alleged 3 previous climbs that would have given anyone notice...I thought by rare the ice only forms infrequently and not every year. Just a thought bro. Silence can be golden.

Tater tater Po tater. Nice first post bro bra. Are you a client of Kurts? Because from your post you sound like you've sucked his weenie. First off your reading comprehension sucks! And second, I'm super proud that you have met him, I actually KNOW him. It's great that you think so highly of someone you don't even KNOW. Jealous? No. I just think homey should be honest, after all isn't that what a good reputation is built upon? Why not just say he sent a blurb to the mag? He sent them the pics. Its not as though the mag just caught wind of his ascent. Why not give some props to the 3 previous ascents, which if you weren't such a c*#k sucker you would have known about because you would actually have read this forum and known it as fact and not some crap i "alleged" to be true. So go ahead big guy and enjoy your dribble, i think you like the way it taste!

And like i said, proud ascent! That is not disputed, its the lack of integrity.

Im scared of heights so I tend gravitate to big mountains over 17K but have met Kurt. I have observed some of the biggest names in mountaineering approach him for his opinion and request for his help. I'm a retired law enforcement SAWAT type of fellow not prone to your type of animus and negativity. Normally we'd just thump a first class butt head like you and escort you down to the county jail. It's clear that you have a poor self image and the fact that you responded to my post means you have the little man syndrone going on. I thought you California types were open about alternative life styling...with the man love thing but your prelidiction to name calling and insults is so telling. My bet is you soke to much weed and have few friends. Over...

Tater the TOOL. Ha Ha. Welcome to supertopo TOOL! Why don't you learn to write? Escort me to county jail? For what? Calling someone out on their integrity? I thought you TOOLS were all about integrity? Your writing sucks and your reading comprehension sucks, must be too many gnarly peaks over 17k pal! Over...

It's well past my bedtime but I was hoping Dave would defend his poor self image or little man syndrone before I pass out from all his blond California ambition. A little verbal thumping appears to go a long way with you juvenile types. What a conundrum you must live given the lack of matriarchal attention as a child, still acting like one. Please ponder your next post as I want it to be worthy of consideration. Over
