Em, how's the ankle?

Ankle is pretty much healed other than occasional aches if I overdo. I haven't climbed since November, but am currently skiing (downhill/tele) 3 to 5 days a week & looking forward to some backcountry touring.

Can't wait to get back to climbing the wyde.

How's your shoulder and all?

Em

Shoulder is not so good, Em.
I'm sure things will be better by Spring, though.

Stumbled across this little gem of Brutus and Em on the First Ascent of Mungebagged Chimney July 16th 2005.

What a filthy centipede filled death trap?! lol

You see, I had become brave after having recently acquiring a drill. With this new faux armor of degenerate courage, I thought retreat would be a cinch from anything that got nutty so I could go as high as I wanted without fear of being stuck out on the sharp end with no way of retreat.

And it was. lol I had gone up a short pitch to start this thing off a year or so prior with Clint S. who I had worked with at Western back in the day. Clint was game, so we set off on it. A shitty yellow TCU, broken rock, a centipede, and some odd number of feet, and I called it quits and bailed out on an anchor I set.

Brutus and Em used wyde gear and pushed it 4 munge filled pitches to the top! Epic.

Miss you Brutus!

From the FA of Milktoast Chimney

From this past Saturday up at SPH:

I like to stop and pay my respects. Atlantis Wall, Donnell Reservoir, Sires of the Stanislaus climbs a water-to-summit dihedral up the tallest part of the cliff.

A closer view. Then off to climbing.

Camp Saturday night found us at another Brutus spot,

Affording yet another view if the Sirens.

First trip of the season up SPH. The pass is closed today for snow. Glad for the chance.

...Paying respects.

Thanks Munge for helping keep the flame alit. He touched us all.

Today's the first time I saw this. Lots o' nice pics and remembrances.

All the gear in the inflatable boat might be the bravest thing I've seen.

NutAgain!? I definitely did not like paddling around in an inflatable with all that gear. If we capsized that gear was destined for Davy Jones locker.

We came back with more durable boats, on subsequent trips.

Cinco de Mayo, just yesterday but such a long time ago....

is what it is...
