Yep, I'm one of those goobers you see at the crags with that silly camera on his head.

With that out of the way, I'm curious to see if any of you other climbers are using a GoPro or related camera to take footage of climbing?

Besides being in the way while climbing, and getting made fun of all the time, the footage is actually pretty sweet sometimes...

Here's a music video I just finished:

Here's a timelapse I made (all GoPro):

Also, here's a link to one of the cooler falling videos I've found on youtube (not me):

Let's see what y'all got!

GoPro's are fun, and worth the dork look just to get to watch them later. Here's the only climbing one I made, but I already put this on a TR

Here are two others I made just for fun

Edit: great videos by the way. Steve B (yosemitesteve), who makes videos for the parks, said that a chest mount can get great climbing footage, but I haven't tried that yet.

Limpingcrag - those are awesome!!

I think that creative editing (like yours in the Snake Dike vid), can make climbing footage significantly more exciting...

What program are you using? The super slow-mo of the cliff jumps looked fantastic.

I used Final Cut Pro, and the Twixtor plug-in for the super slow motion. They're both expensive and more complicated than I like, but a friend gave them to me for free.

Next up, white water tubing video this spring!

"Are GoPro Cameras correlated with accidents?"

In BASE jumping and skydiving, I have friends that are absolutely dead because they wanted the raddest video. Not even a question.

Turn off the 3D if you dont have 3D!!
And crank up the resolution.

Amateur stuff, but the 3D got us a licensing deal with NBC Universal

Is there a correlation between jumping out of airplanes, climbing mountains, racing motorcycles, surfing, skiing, not looking both ways when you cross the street, whistling while standing on your back porch and getting hurt ?

Hmmmm, those cameras sure do behave suspiciously...

Wow... When did YouTube offer 3D as an option in the menu?

Mebbe I'll be tracking down some 3D glasses...

A great friend of mine wants to get a second Gopro to point backwards along with the forward one. He has more money than me so why not. Maybe he wants to catch my crashes!

YouTube was one of the very first distribution options for 3D. It has been around for 2 years! They also are 4K res capable.

Leave it to a google owned company to be ahead of the curve

I totally agree, I feel like a complete dork with my go pro out when climbing, but have a lot of fun watching and editing videos after the fact. Here's one from a weekend last fall in utah
