I had the opportunity to buy cams at a good price. My climbing buddy was buying his set too, so I figured why not. I never got into trad and my buddy sold his trad gear, so I probably won't be using it. I'll sell it off to a good home. (Don't worry, I'm not out of the sport, but for now I could use the money more than the trad gear!)

Oh those look like that batch of defective camalots that was going around about 2 yrs ago. U must have missed the recall deadline. That sucks, you're probably stuck with them. If you get desperate I'll give u $100 for all of them, I'll be able to melt the metal down to make hubcaps with & at least u will be able to get something for them. Cheers.

Why would we worry about you leaving the sport? If you never got into "trad" than you never even got started.

You should put this on the "Friday Night Posting While Drunk" thread. Most of those folks are seeing double, and think it's a really sweet deal.

I've had a good experience on eBay. You have the option to sell stuff "worldwide" and charge more for shipping which is usually a better profit. Granted - you gotta pay alot of fees/ jump thru hoops of Paypal and eBay itself, but with all this fiscal cliff and recession BS, not a bad way to pad your income.

it's great to be a little aware of stolen gear being sold.

but let's be real here. This person is selling what is clearly gear that has never been used. So there's exactly zero possibility it was someones well loved personal gear. and second, it's a rack of singles so it's not like it's a pile nabbed out of a store.

use some common sense.

how much for the static line?

READ THE TITLE PEOPLE, he said they have to go to a good home. He doesn't want to be worrying about his gear after he sells it. Don't even think about buying his gear and then going out and scratching it all up and sh#t.

That good home requirement disqualifies any regular poster on ST.

I sport climb and never got into trad. I'll sell the cams for $500. The static rope I'll sell for $100. I used two cams to set up an anchor at City Of Rocks once, and hardly any ware on those two, other than that none of the cams have been used. The colored BD nuts are brand new and I'll sell for $100. The others I got from a local climber and I'll sell them for $50. The large cams didn't come with carabiners, and since I never used the cams I didn't run to the store to buy carabiners for them. I deployed to iraq had extra money at the time and figured since I loved sport I would love trad. It's been a year and I still haven't used them, so I'm selling out of trad and sticking with sport. If you want the whole bundle I'll sell it all for $650.

But I have a good home. My advice is to not sell. If you are still into sport climbing, add some trad to your climbing skills. You have a good start to a rack that's paid for so use it. A lot of areas have mixed gear routes and if you are serious about climbing hold onto them and put them to good use.

Sounds like the resale market is brutal. I probably will. If anyone wants it for the listed price let me know. Otherwise I'll hang onto them. Thanks

Good luck with resale. #1 rule is, never trust a piece of gear unless you know it's history.

We don't know the history, so it's not worth very much for us to find out.

Where ya been for a week?
