What is it about a New Year? Fresh promises of opportunity, unwritten history like a fresh blanket of snow, no false steps, broken promises, or hearts for that matter along with unspoken, undeclared resolutions. Heart and mind fixed on longed for goals. Just maybe this year.....or not.
But it is and we must give it our best, though today I feel adrift, ungrounded, trying to find my way into
A New Year.
Cheers, Lynne

Happy New Year! I heard a great idea yesterday: It's traditional this time of year to focus on things we'd like to do better (resolutions). This can have kind of a negative slant because it's about what we're not doing, maybe about how we've not measured up. That inner critical voice telling you to do better. That's not necessarily all bad. But, instead, why not pick five (or more or less) things for which you are grateful.
Keeping it local, I'm really grateful for some of the characters here on the Taco Stand I've gotten to know over the years. And especially grateful that I got to meet a few in person at Facelift this year. Looking forward to more in person connections! In ways large and small, you've given a lot.
I'm also grateful I got off my butt and joined a climbing gym this year. It's not the same as being outdoors, but it is helping contribute to me having more fun as I'm able to get outside more. Plus I'm around a few like-minded monkeys. And there are always a few interesting characters to check out in the people watching department!
And thanks for all the entertainment value here!
All the best to everyone for a safe, healthy, and abundant new year!
Cheers,
Eric

Last, best night of the year. I will get my arse worked tonight feeding the revelers - the sixth busy night in a row. Then all will be good. I will have two days off to reflect on the old and new and this renewal process that we all must go through. Is it a burden or a gift?
Happy New Year to all.

Tami, Toque, a chef's hat...but Tuque in Canadian is a hat or beanie worn in the cold. Is that what you mean? (It really wasn't that cold)
Happy New Year. Hope to make a trip to your area in 2013. Smiles, lynne

hey there say, all...
thank you park rat....
and to all these wonderful posts, and their posters, here,
happy new you to you all!!!
i am babysitting... could have gone to the old neighborhood, with the few frieds there, but you know:
this little boy will have happy memories, for a long time, by being here, :)
what a great way for me to start off my new year... :)
made me cry--but then, i am more than a mite sentimental,
as to heartfelt things... :)
he went to sleep now, so i might make homemade eggnog and add a
mite of a 'nip' to it--not meaning catnip by the way, ;)
made chicken soup, to humbly start off the year, correct, too...
very thankful for how far i've come, after thinking i'd go any farther
than being 'stuck on a shelf and gathering dust' ...
:)
god bless to you all!
am praying for us all to have a good solid and stable new year, with the
joys of friendships, family, and the right amount of peace to keep us
unspoiled, and saftey enough to always be grateful for...
and choice good climbs for you all, but for me:
neat little trails of walking, :))
