I take everything as humor, life is better that way

Amen, although I wonder if I sometimes offend people when I laugh after they finished yelling at me.

True Wes. I really don't know why Jeremy packed up all his toys and left, but he did. It always seemed like he could take what he dished out? Obviously Jer's reaction caused some emails to get sent and the "problem" was dealt with. I don't think it's fair, but that's probably what happened.

Not in my world.

My world is calling coworkers at six thirty to figure out the plan for the day.

Nothing offends authority figures more than that. Back in my younger days I told a couple of foremen that my Mom was Irish and that they'd have to yell a lot louder than that! It's a wonder I didn't get punched.

Burchey is part of this clusterf*#k over on summitpost composed of him, Daria, or PCT as she's known here, Vitaliy and The Chief. Every thread degenerates into them thumping their chests and calling the others weak-ass posers. For them you have to bash other's acomplishments to feel good about what you've done. Never figured that one out.

So it goes.

edit: Did Jeremy leave? Too bad. I hope his Mom is still around.

I can't wait for THAT (early morning, full day of work, somewhat regular hours) kind of life again. Natural science is no place for a chronically disorganized perfectionist.

Well John, as long as they think you're laughing with them and not at them, everything will be fine.

hahahahahahahahahaha X 2

Anybody know how to square a number in the ST editor? Well this works, but it's kinda hard to read.

hahahahahahaha˛

Michele, the math teacher, just pointed out that this is what I wanted!

Dude, if you're an early riser, you'll thrive.

I do my best work before noon.

I can't tell if you're truly being nicer, or if you're trying to ingratiate yourself with the ST crowd so that you can f*#k with people, but you should post some sort of tutorial on the geologic sh#t you're up to.

I'm a fan of geologic info that I can't truly understand, but try like hell to figure out.

Ever fall, bounce off something, and end up hanging upside down in space spinning on the end of your rope? At first you're not quite sure what's going on, but after awhile you come to, get your bearings, and realize how bad that all sucked - or at least that's what reading this thread seems like so far.

I've always been one of the nicest guys I know. Just not afraid to give sh#t back to those who dish it out. I find it odd that others are obviously joking... but I must be serious and malevolent. I've never seen you give anyone sh#t or say ridiculously stupid sh#t, so...

Besides, I'm writing results for my dissertation... I wouldn't want to reveal how jaded I am about the whole thing... so I am working on my positive voice.

I seriously miss the working life though. If I'm not climbing, I'm sitting in front of this stupid computer running stupid models and/or writing stupid stuff here and/or in my papers or laying in bed trying to figure out how to make it all work.

RE Geology: still love the field, just hate the position I'm in. Not sure what kind of tutorial you would want... the hydrology sh#t I'm doing is pretty dry.

We got Sarah Garlick's book for Christmas. Should be an interesting read. (http://rockclimbinggeology.com/);
