Hahahaha, yes only 323 people were killed by assault rifles last year - and if you believe that, you're even more of an idiot than anyone who owns one is.

Want to know the best reason to ban guns? Read the reader's comments section of this article

TO A MAN they say the reason to own guns is to use them against the gov't, and many are talking about bomb-making to boot

I say we turn the US Army loose on these fools, and see how long their adolescent bravado lasts

There are some terrifying things on that link hedge. WE better get some guns to protect ourselves from those nut jobs.

Like I said, I can't wait for one of these nuts to take on the local SWAT team because their arsenal is being confiscated

The SWAT team will be outgunned, of course

Then what?

The Apache comes in, and obliterates the gun nut's house, on national TV

Lets see, what has happened historically, when the police have done what that mouthy, hedgey guy thinks would be "funny"? I recall one or more.

This was a case where the police (SWAT) was outgunned for days by a group of black religious radical muslims (I think) all named "Africa", and they (the Police/SWAT) tried to use a helocpter to destroy (bomb) the "blockhouse" a half dozen men had created, (financed out of pop bottle refunds and blood bank donations.) On national TV as I recall. And YES, it was QUITE FUNNY! These guys was POOR black men, quite marginalized for years. They (police) killed a half dozen or so of the barracaded men and women, several children (5), and burned down 65 neighboring homes in the fire the police had started. OOPS!

The resulting lawsuits took years and millions of dollars, and enriched people the government was trying to kill. By 1.5 million. (A lot of money 25 years ago).

Yeah, that worked well.

Like Ruby Ridge made several million dollars for the man they were trying to kill after they managed to kill his wife and infant and son.

Like Waco made millions of dollars for the family and survivors of the people they were trying to kill. The courts do not support slaughter of American Citizens. Not even religious zelots.

Yes the government oftens slaughters the individuals, but it never seems to win the war, does it? When they do that sh#t, it turns out to be Unconstitutional, illegal and a genuinely bad idea. It advances the cause of the opposition.

Those of you who think this is a democracy should ask yourselves when was the last time you voted on any major bills personally? Its the politicians who vote, not the citizens, so we are not a democracy. They vote on the issues, so we are a republic. If we were a democracy, you could never outvote 100,000,000 gun owners as a voting block. You actually have a better chance with the politicians being the voters. They are not truely representative of the electorate. They are your only real chance to steamroll this kind of thing in.

But I would be astonished if too many of them want to risk losing their jobs over this. There is nothing but Social Security that will bring so many people to the polls, and its the politicians you will see leave, not the bills. And if you keep pushing this into the Supreme Court, you will lose there bad, and actual individual rights will be expressly upheld, which they have managed to dodge a little up till now. The court has shown in precedent what would have to likly be their decision, to be consistant with the entire past history of decisions. Something they like to do.

All this stuff has been tried, already, and it was shown to either useless or futile and it was abandoned. What you are proposing is just a retread, a flashback to something that made you think you feel good, but had no effect. A placebo. Its not going to be any better this time.

((Insanity: trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.))

Guy, you got no idea what you say you are asking for. It won't work out the way you think.

Nuthin is that simple.

PS: Ron A., thats some good stuff you been pounding them with. All they can do is cuss, spit and call you names!
