Yes the world is, and sometimes it shines down on us....as I sit here debating with a nurse about when she ' ll start the IV for my CT scan which isn't for another hour ( had to drink oral contrast first) . This is all related to the follow up for ovarian cancer that I had two years ago....and they said I wouldn't make it this far! Believe me, there isn't a day goes by I don't recognize the gift I've been given, I only hope I share whatever good will and peace that has been given to me in a way that makes a difference to others...thanks for the goodness, radness and danger....ok, I'll stop debating with the nurse, let her do her job and offer up my arm....after all I'm here...

Here's some goodness, radness, and danger.

You decide which is which- they're all interchangable.

I've posted this before, but...

Jack Gilbert
"A Brief for the Defense" from Refusing Heaven

Sorrow everywhere. Slaughter everywhere. If babies
are not starving someplace, they are starving
somewhere else. With flies in their nostrils.
But we enjoy our lives because that's what God wants.
Otherwise the mornings before summer dawn would not
be made so fine. The Bengal tiger would not
be fashioned so miraculously well. The poor women
at the fountain are laughing together between
the suffering they have known and the awfulness
in their future, smiling and laughing while somebody
in the village is very sick. There is laughter
every day in the terrible streets of Calcutta,
and the women laugh in the cages of Bombay.
If we deny our happiness, resist our satisfaction,
we lessen the importance of their deprivation.
We must risk delight. We can do without pleasure,
but not delight. Not enjoyment. We must have
the stubbornness to accept our gladness in the ruthless
furnace of this world. To make injustice the only
measure of our attention is to praise the Devil.
If the locomotive of the Lord runs us down,
we should give thanks that the end had magnitude.
We must admit there will be music despite everything.
We stand at the prow again of a small ship
anchored late at night in the tiny port
looking over to the sleeping island: the waterfront
is three shuttered cafés and one naked light burning.
To hear the faint sound of oars in the silence as a rowboat
comes slowly out and then goes back is truly worth
all the years of sorrow that are to come.

More people like Ekat and Neebs, with a little bit of T-rex added for danger.

The World Is Packed With Goodness...
INDEED!

There is all the beauty of nature, the little things that we sometimes take for granted like sunsets & sunrises & rainbows, etc! And then there's peoples smiles & hugs & kind gesture's, & their weeping when weep & rejoicing when we rejoice, etc.!

Just a few example of goodness, eh?

I "edited/deleted" a bunch of my post. About children being "a love gift from God/goodness", the bible verse, etc! kinda wish i hadn't...oh well. and the part about "faith, hope and love, the greatest of these is love."! anyway, love is a gift (goodness) and there are many examples of it on this thread!!
