Merry Christmas everyone !
The greatest gift is life. Life's not free though, you can't just go and take one...
SO TAKE A CAB if you're drinking while FA-LA-LA-ing at your friend's house.
It's the best 20 or 40 bucks you could ever spend and has far reaching health benefits for everyone !
HO HO HO ! ! !

Damn right. 20 or 40 is a damn sight cheaper than $10,000 plus jail and a lifetime of guilt.
But Locker doesn't want us taking a cab here in electron world, so we shouldn't be talking about it. It's only ok to do this stuff in the REAL WORLD!!!

Heh. I thought of the Locker thing, didn't want to expand that into a three thread affair though. Now all we need is a Christian throwing sucker punches....

also, when your stringing up those Christmas lights on the house...don't do it while your drunk
and always have your partner make sure the ladder is properly braced/locked & clear of any electrical wires, etc
safety...EVERYTIME

Taking a cab home might now always be the safest option, my friend mike was taking a cab home to emerald in whistler and the cabby missed a turn and sent the car off the road crashing half way through the ice on top of green lake.

I did that for the first time last year. Pretty drunk, know there are roadblocks, so yeah, I took a cab. Pretty cool really -- just get waved through the roadblocks. But the next morning when I saw the cab in my garage, I realized that I had no idea where I'd found it, nor how to return it.

I think they're pretty different. As far as I know, taxidermists don't try to kill me on a daily basis.

Additionally, many of us live in places where cabs don't exist. I'd have to be in a town thirty minutes away to have the luxury of calling a cab.
Plan ahead, designate a driver or make arrangements to stay where you imbibe.
My employers wife was hit by a drunk driver last Friday evening. She'll be ok, but the drunk driver died with her two and six year old children in the car. The kids were unharmed physically, but will undoubtedly suffer the mental trauma for the rest of their lives.
Stay safe all.
