The cover photo by Claude Cassin revealed a side to the Calanques more akin to Gogarth than the sunny Mediterranean.

Beautiful area. I did a little light bouldering there while attending a math meeting at Luminy in the early fall of 1989.

Blakey: Great article. When I see Michel Fauquet on Les Mille et Une Peurs I can feel the rock.

JoGill: Luminy is at the heart of the Calanques. 30-60 min walk to a lot of crags. Some bouldering closer to Luminy.

I have also taken a break from theorems and proofs at Luminy to go climbing. A short hike out the back door of the lecture theater...

I doubt it measured up to JG's definition of "light bouldering" though!

"A little light bouldering" - which sounds more like walking on rock. ;o)
