Hey Everybody, I feel like it's time for another ST Spring Fundraiser.
As you know John recently had a major accident that's going to require several surgeries and lots of Rehab. The costs for whats not covered by his Insurance are mounting. Let's try and workout a Fundraiser for this Spring in J.T. . .Todd? Tarbuster? Mighty Hiker? Cragman? . .Ron Gomez give ma a shout, you're in charge.
Edit, He's doing well, it's going take some time to healup. Guy, love that idea, old skool slideshow and lies around a campfire. . .

I donated a couple of custom E-Z UPs for the Gordon Ranch Fundraiser last year. I'll be happy to have a couple more made again.

Nothing wrong with fundraisers. It's one of the good things that happens here at ST.
However not everyone needs it or wants it. Bullwinkle is this something Largo has said he's ok with?
Or would this be something to help fund some good causes other than a specific individual?
Totally cool idea either way if the recipients are willing.

ho man! sounds great...I got some valuable stuff I can donate for auction, and maybe a Dr F versus Russ Walling epic political debate moderated by Bob Gaines instead of a loud band?

Ski,
Yes I just spoke to him about this, his bills are already off the chart and he has a hard road ahead. . .

Not hard to imagine. A long hospital stay can be a massive financial burden even with "good" Insurance.

Thanks for the link, Taho. Even though I was very well insured, the co-pays for the rehab from my Achilles tendon surgery this year weren't cheap, and Largo is looking at something far more extensive. I only wish I had more to give now.

After seeing some of these things go terribly wrong (ie: the Bachar debacle where that dude Greene stole all the shit) who is behind the link below and in ultimately in charge of the funds?

The link led to the Access Fund, although there was a different address on PayPal. The involvement of the Access Fund, however, struck me as a sufficient safeguard.

That Greene guy claimed he was devastated by Hurricane Katrina as well and I sent him a twenty. Ha ha ha. Quite the accomplished grifter. Glad he moved on to other suckers.

I can't imagine someone like JL not having full medical coverage...
He must be insured...
If not he could be in deep doo doo...

Oops! I did not see an Access Fund connection when I clicked in again, but my experience with Chip In has generally been positive.
Locker, again, I had a very extensive (and expensive) Blue Shield plan and Aflac, and still had uncovered out-of-pocket expenses.

My guess is that John has a catastrophic health care plan like I did when I was self employed. The deductible is usually high, sometimes like $8,000. So odds are his plan is not going to cover a huge chunk of change.

B_E_S: give it a rest. If this is going to be the actual fundraiser link thread, the last thing we need is how much a strapadicktome cost in 1983. Perhaps this ONE thread can sorta stay on topic for a bit. Besides, you are making Bullwinkle nuts.
