Personally I haven't experienced anything first hand, but do believe there's a lot more than what our eyes percieve. Maybe ghosts are extra-dimensional from different times. Maybe we are ghosts to them. I don't know much about physics, but do believe physcisists are on the brink of big things that will change the way we think of this world. Brian Green's The Elegant Universe is a very good read, even for someone who doesn't understand physics. String Theory in particular is a interesting idea. Instead of the known four dimensions, it suggests there are 12 or 13 dimensions total, so small we can't percieve or know the laws of physics there. Wish I understood physics more and am sure I am butchering String Theory, but do know I don't know sh#t about this world and am open minded about what's out there.
One girlfriend I dated told me of her and her friends playing with a Oiuja Board when they were in highschool. At first they were just asking normal questions and getting some simple answers that none thought was too abnormal or scary. One of her friends had a baby in the room that really started to get active and crying/screaming. They asked how to make the baby quit and the response was simple, KILL HER. That was the end of the game and to hear how terrified my girlfriend was talking about it a decade later, I believed the story to be true. Never played with a Oiuja Board and am wondering if anyone has?
i dont believe in fortune cookies,, the eight ball prediction toy, nor any board games.
I do however "knock wood" and never say WHATS NEXT!
This is my first serious consideration of anything of this nature. It is ONLY due to the caliber of folks involved and knowing all folks involved and the cirmucstances that i give this consideration.
This isnt bigfoot- who is supposedly here in the flesh. This particular case is, according to those that practice spiritual or energy healings is a classic one. Ive researched the Choctaw beliefs in this area and they are much the same as eastern philosophies. This happened separate and at very different levels of sophistication. So when faced with such a question, the evidence being somewhat circumstantial must still be tallied. When physical evidence such as bruises and lumps on the head are present this, by those in the know, say its a dangerous situation.
that, along with the possibility's, is the reason we will attempt this spirit release. The lady wants the home, my buddy would like her to buy it because she takes care of it and knew the Uncle. There is no one trying to get out of anything here. So the only choice here is to go with the flow, accept the unexplained and do what you can.
Much like an airman basic - who has NO idea WHY he is doing what hes doing other than orders are orders.
"Ive researched the Choctaw beliefs in this area and they are much the same as eastern philosophies."
The Choctaw have written beliefs regarding drunk, uneducated idiots making up ghost stories? Leave innocent indian tribes outta this, and lay off the natural light for a night or two.
senate is a little hard to get ahold of, and i don't have his email address any more, but you might find his blog page interesting, and there is contact information there. i think he might be quite interested in this case, ron.
besides his ghostly interests, richard is also an historian, and was instrumental in renewing ventura's memory of the early days of erle stanley gardner, who was a ventura lawyer before he became famous for his "perry mason" stories, many of them inspired by local cases. richard published a small book about this and got them to put a plaque on the beautiful old bank building at california and main, where gardner used to have a law office.
I have seen at least one ghost, heres my experience. I was working late in my antique shop about 15 years ago. It is a large old 100 year+ building that was a Rexall Drug since the 20's. I was in the basement working late, kneeling on the floor marking out spaces with a tape and calculator, trying to sort out square footage for some rental space. All of a sudden the whole atmosphere changed, I can't explain how, but my hair stood up on end and the calculator just froze up. I looked up and there was a figure standing at the end of the aisle about 30 feet from me. I glanced at it once and that was enough as it was not clearly defined and transparent, but it was humanoid, and I could sense great anger, and I was freaked. It just stood there, and I finally yelled, "What do you want?" There was no response, but then the electricity went out of the atmosphere, the tension faded, and my calculator started working again, and I looked up and it was gone. I had no idea what just happened, but it was very disturbing. However it was evident that whoever had visited was gone.
A couple days later I found out that the old gentleman who occassionally visited me and told me about the old days living in the building, and who had been born and raised in that store as his folks owned the Rexall for many years, had found out he had cancer. He had gone home and gone into his study and put a gun in his mouth and killed himself. This happened same time, same evening that I had my "experience". I don't know for sure who/what the entity was that visited me, but I have a feeling that it was him.
From my own experience living in a real haunted house as a kid, the "ghosts" if you will seemed to be on more of a behaviorial loop than I'd suspect a sentient "ghost" would be.
Almost as if past actions or maybe even strong emotions get fixed to a point in space and repeat. Like vibrations on a string. My family tried many times in vain to communicate with the ghosts in our old house without any luck. It became just a part of life although still stressful to me as a child.
Whatever it is, it's fairly rare. Aside from my entire childhood of haunted happenings in that house, I've only experienced another such event fairly recently, 20 years later. It was familiar in a strange way, like meeting an old childhood friend. But it ended as quickly as it began.
I've never seen any full-form apparition(i.e. old scary dead dude) which is why I've never been sure of what the source of these events might really be.
UPDATE: We went out to my buddys place yesterday to make a walk through and collect keys etc. The lady has moved out and as it turns out,,,,,,,LIED to us about the "ghost" she has, as it seems that its some little girl now that haunts here EVERY WHERE she goes...
Yes she played on the emotions of both my buddy and I and our friend who believes..
I tried to "feel" anything while there, and came away with the feeling that Uncle T is certainly NOT inhabiting his house in the after world. I could look up at Star Peak and feel him there,, but NOT in the home..
So yeah, in this case it seems it twas all BULLSHEET....
