Looking for beta. Besides that guidebook (Desert Climbs) where can I find info?

Thanks!

Sunlight is in Fifty Favorite Climbs.
You might try jello for WS&S.
Compared to those two Experimental Earth ain't worth it.

Golsen and his buddy named some routes:

Wind, Sand and Cars
Earth, Wind and Tire
Blood, Sweat and Gears.

funny!

We did a new route on a hot day on some soft sandstone (that white stuff) and named it Mud, Sweat and Fears. Too bad it's not in the same area. I think I've been on that huecoed route or one just like it (couldn't do the crux) in the kolob- what a wild place.

His books are good reading, in English or French.

jbaker's comments about his dad and the book are a nice touch
so too is the comment above about S-E's work being good reading in either language. I always am astonished at how authentic-sounding translations from French to English sound; Camus in particular comes to mind.

I would love to W, S & S. What is it anyway -- V 5.9 or so? Crack/face?

Bumping for anyone who's done the route? I've listed topo's above for future parties.

IMO not even close to the quality of Moonlight and not as good as Cloud Tower either. The crux pitches are good. The rest... meh.

JSJ,
did you climb this recently? If so, can you comment on the condition of the fixed protection and if you believe any updates are in order? Thanks!
