skiing on MMSA yesterday was really good . Lower mountain is fair but the top has some sweet wind blown with some good coverage due to the cement from last WED.

Nice pics! Cement is great for base snow!

So those of you who know the W/B will realize that u ended up in the village yesterday instead of creekside. I was planning on peak chair Being open but that didn't happen. Fortunately Sandra was in the area so she picked me up and whisked me back to creekside parking and I took this photo when I grabbed some belated lunch from the market.

Ekat- YES! It is gorgeous here! Mountains as far as the eye can see. Literally, in all directions!

I went up creekside again this morning.

My buddy Rick wasn't there yet so I went and chilled at the backside for a bit.

He wasn't very fond of his lemon loaf..
LOL!!!!

Excellent skittering around on the nordic version of the "White Ribbon of Death" at Cypress today. Fun hard fast and laced with some churned-up gravel to keep your attention.

Nice Todd.. white ribbon of death eh? sounds exciting! :)

We jumped off the gondola and were treated to an amazing bluebird view

When we got to the top we decided on a warmup run.

Had to duck into the trees for a second....

We got back to Red Chair and there was a line, but it went pretty quick.

Then we decided to go for a walk.

Rick got a phone call which provided me a chance to take this pano.
He got off the phone quick enough to give me that smug look.

Another quick pano at Harmony Ridge

It was all business today. no lollygagging taking photos like yesterday :)

A man still has to stop for a break once in awhile. Harmony Chair top station.

Before you were "Big Mike" you were Little Mike, and before that, "Baby Mike."
But there was skiing even before that. Before you were Mike at all...

Indeed, a long way from where I started.

So very true sir. Nice photo..

When you get to the top of Harmony it's just a little bit further to the peak.

I actually hiked this part twice because a lady asked me if I'd dropped my glove up by harmony, and all my stuff was in my pack, so i thought i might have. it was only a short walk but when i got back there it wasn't even my glove!! Doh!!!

Just up around the bend...

I love being in the mountains!!

Getting there...

I hiked the extra twenty feet to the Peak just for some shots....

Rick wanted to go West Cirque, Christmas trees but I wanted some fresh Gnar so I suggested Sunday chute. He reluctantly agreed and I told him he would love it.

He did.

Dropping in

Slasher!

Since this area is Permanently Closed I normally wouldn't post these pics but because Peak is area boundary right now it's fair game.

Before I shredded it, I stopped to take this pano.

I've got more pics from the next run but they will have to wait till later as I am going climbing!!! YAY!

You should note that in the pic I posted above, I'm not actually "skiing."
I'm on skis, yes, but not moving. So while I may look like a real skier,
don't be fooled. The pack on my back weighed about 50 pounds, and I used it
to help me develop the style of skiing now known as "linked headplants."

I got to some interesting places on skis, but the only thing that ever got
shredded when I skied was my ego.

Tons o' fun, though.

You should try it without a 60 pound pack on... ;) the new skis are amazing too. It's a different world now.

I hope you guys get some sliding goods soon! DMT says it's coming for nor cal. We'll see. Next one looks wet. Good base snow for high alpine...

Alright I promised more pics and then got distracted by climbing.. that's acceptable tho since this is a climbing website :)

When Rick and I got down we met up with Kyle and went to Garbonzo Chair

Kyle and Rick at the top of Seppos

Hoar frost with the Spearhead range in the background

I'm loving these panos!

As we were dropping in we saw our buddy Nigel and he decided to join us. We had a sick tree run, but things were still pretty boney. When we got back to the top again, Rick took off and we decided to go re-hydrate and re-energize for another hike to the peak.

After some liquids and sugar fixes we headed up the powder road.

Nigel shreds some guitar, Harmony style

Looking back at the top of Harmony

A simply amazing place, and time to be

Come on Mike! Stop taking photos we're gonna miss the light!

Couldn't resist this one..

Or this one..

Nigel discussing our route plan with the cat operators so we don't get killed by Winch cats..

Nigel shredding the Alpenglow

The light was amazing these photos don't do it justice.

Nigel drops into juicy West Bowl

A simply amazing early season day. Hike days are the best. Rat Race days suck. Looks pretty wet for the next week... hope things chill out a bit!! :)
