Have fun in RR Mike, weird that going sledding would turn into a clustertruck?! Hey Ekat we're actually in the coast mountains I believe here, Rockies are about 7 hrs due east, not sure what sub range Whis/blackcomb falls into maybe someone can help us.....
WOW. . . is Whistler really 7 hours west of Fernie?
Way farther than I thought.
P.S.
GOOD GOD. . . I just pulled a GOOG (rhymes with spooge) on it (I think I did this a while back - but forgot). . . and Whistler's almost 13.5 hours from Fernie.
Oh yeah...back in California to catch up on a small (5 inch) pow dusting they had at Kirkwood.

Over at Fern Ridge...had the BEST snow and trees, a few places were icy where it was narrow and every one turning in the same places.

Last run of the day, double black, Eagle Bowl, and I'm yelling at myself, point them down hill and just go! Eventually I did but of course I wanted the PERFECT line....ha, I just wanted to live.
The line I want is over here somewhere, some where, I left a trail of breadcrumbs earlier this month. Oh f'...it" just point and shoot.

Edit....just checked my lil' altimeter and got 11,800 vertical feet in today. YES!
Ten fingers, this run will give me 10k vertical feet today, but it was still early, I got in just over 12k by days end, followed up by lots of Vitamin I and hot tub.
Ten Fingers, gonna be 10k vertical feet with this run. But the day was young....

Fawn Ridge, best snow on the mountain. Some icy patches, but wonderful runs in the trees...

One more day of skiing until I return home to Santa Cruz and await some new snow in California before we head back up to Utah (Alta) and Montana (Bridger Bowl).
Looking forward to some "horizontal" time....I'm feeling this trip.
Nice Susan!!! I was at kwood on Saturday. The snow was less than prime so I ended up switching out my snowboard for some skis. HO MAN was I bad at skiing haha! Although after a couple hours I was linking turns together and having fun. I haven't had so much fun on a groomer blue run since I was 9!!!
Very cool Susan! Thanks for the pics! Good to see you out having fun!!
Ya mojede! Pow pow!
Skiing Briham! Switched to the darkside? ;) nice. I grew up skiing. I would still go occasionally if I had some boots, but I ain't gonna drop 5 bills on a pair of boots i rarely use.
I got a GPS watch, mainly to track my running. But I wear it skiing and I'm able to transfer tracks to Google Earth. It's fun..unfortunately the satellite imagery it's tracked on was not shot when snow was on the ground. These were my tracks at Kirkwood yesterday.
My tracks, but there was snow!

The actual GPS application allows me to animate my tracks, get my heart rate, elevation and all kinds of fun stuff.
SNOW POTENTIAL 10 to 17 inches of snowfall (up to 2 feet above 8,500 feet
Tuesday forecast for Kirkwood, fingers crossed. Plan is to leave from there and head to Bozeman for a few weeks. Trying to get as much fun "shredding" as possible before spring slaps us with all it's glory!
Oh thanks Mojede....we're planning on getting there Saturday.....we've been following the forecasts....yessssss!!!! Hoping for those March dumps! This will be our 2nd trip up this winter and these conditions are looking the best for us so far...
