AT LAST.....Kirkwood....I'm not exactly shredding, as the icy conditions wanted to shred me....but finally...on the facsimile of an imitation of the real thing!
Got in 6000 feet at least!
Me and my shadow at top of Buckboard...

Distant view

Ferretlegger first run on Solitude....free heeling....tele-er. I Alpine.

Yep, finally....and our sledges are almost done for back country....

Susan! Nice! Sliding on anything is better than nothing!!

Thanks for the pics!!

Dood. . . you need to send the link to this thread to WHISTLER. . . you are SELLIN' IT! Maybe they'd bro ya on a free season pass!

Nah.. then I can't keep it real :) I paid for my plastic.. This is all just for memories and to share with ya'll!

These are the rest of the Wednesday pics. It's been a crazy powder daze kinda week and it's been slowly catching up to me. After 6 pow days in a row you get pretty spent, both mentally and physically.

Sandra cruising Upper Franzes

Sandra met up with some girlfriends and I met up with Relic and Brownie. It was Relic's first day in a couple years and he was stoked!

Whistler riders learn to go fast so they don't have to skate as much on the flat spots...
Kieran on the left Relic on the Right

We did some sick tree laps, brownie dropping in.

Relic at Green chair

Brownie at Green

Then we went to the Goat Path, Kieran traversing in.

Relic hiking up the path

After a sick run on the ridge we went back to red chair and then spotted that harmony wzs open.

We were behind the curve because we did an extra run, which is why the line was so huge, so we decided to head back towards peak chair and ride excitation. It was pretty wind packed on that aspect but we still had some pretty smooth turns.

Relic was getting hungry and Brownie just wanted to keep going so we split up and i went for lunch with Relic.

After lunch we met up with Kyle at Harmony and then saw that Peak chair was open. We rushed over there and then did a line through whistler bowl to get to Jimi's Eye

Kyle dropping Jimi's Eye

We got another sick run in on peak after this which made for another awesome day.

Then we headed back to Blackcomb on the Eat to Eat to get back to the cars.
we had it all to ourselves!!!

I went riding yesterday too, but took today off. Too much of a good thing can still be too much sometimes.. :)

Had my first day of the year today, so fun! Got there around 130 or so & did one big, long 4,500 feet of pow in the old growth run! It was good times except a bit of a rowdy ski out @ the bottom. I'll try to post a pic or something later.

Why u call that thing Jimi's eye Mike?? I've always called it the eye or the pyramid??

Why do we call it Jimi's eye? Because if you look it the end of that ridge from the right angle it looks like Hendrix and that's his right eye.. Ill try and get a pic sometime.

Ekat-Sweet! Enjoy those turns!

Feeling it, could only make it to 2 pm....started at 8:30....got 6300 vert feet in today. Back side of Kirkwood open....hopefully they brought in more medics....AWFUL conditions...new owners seem to think these early season conditions are a go.

Time for a hot tub or something and some snow romping with my new doggie!

Oh poo....camera in car, pics later

That's how I felt when we opened with 25cm! It's still touch and go in the alpine too, but it's open... We've had snow years where the base hasn't even gotten this good.

Here are some pics from Thursday. I've been a write off for the past couple days. 6 powder days in a row can really kill a guy.

We got 4 cms that day.. about the same on the truck.
I'm showing you my ghetto a$$ broken windows because i'm getting them fixed today!!

Kyle

We rode some trees and other fun stuff...

For our last lap we hit up that spot Ryan was talking about and visited the Stu Inn

Then Kyle graciously taxied me to function

Sitting at Merlin's after another fantastic day. Something about McConkey just came on, and despite everything, I still can't help but feel a little sad for Shane and his family.

RIP Shane!!

Dave that's a awesome video! That is a Sherpas Cinema joint and they are based out of Whistler. The cinematography skills these guys have are simply amazing. That cut you posted was bunk though.. Here's the Sherpas Original cut.

If you like that one than you really should see their full length feature "All I Can"
