My buddies sled and I don't think it will fit in my carry-on. Plus I'm sh#t as a sledhead, bringing the Salomon though. Hope the snow is still good in March. Cheers Mike.
Bachar and I yammered at length about heli skeezin in Valdez. . . he had me "THIS" close to thinkin' I might be able to pull it off. . . but. . . I've got WAY too many years on heavy, wet snow to even think I could deal with mega deep pow. . .unless there happened to be an outfitter out there who catered to old dad groomer cruisers!
I woke up to 1'' of the sickest pow NH has seen in weeks today!
This is my home mountain, ten minutes down the road. Not exciting, but it's close
This is where the goods are. A couple of hours north. They get more snow than Colorado and the terrain is the most challenging lift access you'll find in these parts
Nope. Used to ten years ago. It's a small town but has lots of expensive homes. Permanent residents hover around 10000 bursting to 20000+ during the winter. I live about 5 minutes from town in a basement suite. My landlord is a cityit that doesn't come up too often. It's a decent spot..
Yeah. . . the seasonal thing is rough. . . Mammoth's base population would jump from ~ 4,000 to 50,000 over night on any given skeezin weekend. . . and it seemed all we poor schlepps did was either get ready for them or clean up after them. . . with little to no respect or recompense.
