"he can't shout, don't hear you" oddly when I Google it, I come up with a Firesign Theatre hit... only... Jaybro? the lyric?

Ed, you of all people, I thought would have recognized that one.
It's from the 'all hail (Groucho) Marx & (John) Lennon', Album (How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all-oops), flip side of Nick Danger. (Isn't it?)

I’ve always taken it as an, about, quadruple entendre, about miscommunication similar to, the sort to which (I thought) TR refered.

Like speaking too loud to a blind person, or someone speaking another language, in hopes that increased volume will somehow help them understand what you mean.

The lesson I've taken from it is a, show don't explain, kind of deal.

TR - I know this is a dead issue, but can't you learn to spell your name? Jeez, it's like the Disney version or something, did you misspell it just to copyright it? Are you hooked on phonics or something?

Jay,
a quick listen to the first side of THE FIRESIGN THEATRE PRESENTS HOW CAN YOU BE IN TWO PLACES AT ONCE WHEN YOU'RE NOT ANYWHERE AT ALL ? and I didn't come up with the phrase... but I'll try to find it.

sure it not on the second side?

Ed, actually I've just been looking, now I'm not sure where it's from. I don't haqve the tapes or the song book up here at my fortress of solitude/aka the armbar ranch.

Now I think It's from the one that starts with the Turkish lesson (Don't Crush that Dwarf hand me the pliers (?)) I think it's from the part about being incarcerated in a foreign land; " I started out writing in my own blood but, as this would not make an acceptable carbon, I aguired an electric typewriter."

Hopefully I'll uncover a clip.

LOL, among men, a cute young girl can get away with murder, but an old guy can't get away with shyte, unless he is very good or very lucky.

Has it ever been any different?

I'm pretty sure it's not on the Marx/Lennon record.
I only know it from the climb name, over by Little Wing.
I assumed the climbers came up with it on their own.
Will be pleased to be proved wrong.

2. stop saying things. just walk the talk and shut up.

Isn't there some type of irony in actually posting that? Personally, I like talking AND walking. Often simulatneously. I often enjoy spray and spew, both giving and taking. Is that so wrong?

Jaybro, you can't knock success, but you still put me through too many changes...

Waiting for the Electrician or Someone Like Him

"Going up!"

-russian question-

"Oh excuse me but my friend would like to know how much you enjoy our city so far"

"Actually I haven't been here too long."

-translated to french-

-russian response-

"Oh, uh, he want to know, yes or no?"

"Well tell him yes, IT'S A BEAUTIFUL CITY"

-russian-

"He says 'He can shout; don't hear you!'
Have you seen the palace?"

"Not yet, but I certainly intend..."

"Oh you must! You must! It wont be here much longer, you know they are cleaning it."

-russian question-

"Are you alone?"

"Yes"

"No, we are here with you"

"Oh, I see what you mean, ah, no"

"Yes, how many are we?"

"Here? ehh, three"

"You don't want to count the elevator boy?"

"Yeah"

"Three or four?"

"Ffffour"

"But of course there is your family"

"But, but there not traveling with me"

"Where?"

"Where I'm going"

"But you're here! Ahhh, how many?"

"Four, with, with the elevator boy"

"Ahhh, he is in your family"

"No, here"

"And here we are..."

and the clip

You're the damn man, Ed! I was completly off base on the context.

When I go to restauraunts with either, or both of my brothers' family and the Host asks "how many?"

We ALWAYS get an 'elevator boy' joke in there.

The russian is just what is translated, btw. I would guess the french is dead on, as well.

Please, excuse the drift, T*R.
