Mirko is a good kid. I remember putting up a lead route through the roof at the gym for him. He would freak out from the heights. Not one move was hard for him. But the being high up part freaked him out.
He's sent some hard boulders. He's plenty strong.
He's even sent some hard sport routes, up in the 5.14's.
It's pretty rad he's got the opportunity to travel and go to all the amazing climbing destinations with the full support of his family and friends.
He's gonna destroy those free climbs.

Ha ha, in the time they did the Rostrum I was puttering along on the first couple pitches of Reed's Direct, then passed them on the lawn before an El Cap lieback session. I should have gotten an autograph ;)
Have fun with a world of possibility opening before you Mirko.

Good idea. Put up more ropes for him while you can. You will have a rope gun (notmuch)later!

Very engaging writing Mirko! Jim Herson posted a TR of him and his daughter climbing 1/2 Dome here on Supertopo that you reference in your tale, looks like you have one of THE best guys to tie in with for the first multi-pitch....like EVER.
Keep on keeping on!

Very nice trip report, Mirko. Great writing and great climbing.
Sotto voce to other old guys: Does this mean that Valley climbing has just become another video game?
