Is that a pointed question? An interrogative gesture perhaps, which you have cloaked in a double meaning, to stir up our pointless lives, our abandoned premises (of there being a point in this pointless thread/discussion)?

So am I trying to watch out for the FEDS or is it the PEDS. Is the PEDS mixed in with the FEDs or the FEDS as the PEDS?

Anyway I stayed away. Did notice when I drove bye couple of days before the date, my car radio was working, problem I don’t have a radio.

I just finished the TR put up by Rocknicenut about the EB of EC. Never did get to climb it (yet?) all these years.
And a photo from the 1964 YV guide by Roper flashed into my head. Willi Unsoeld on the buttress, traversing. Or was it Al Steck on YPB? I have CRS and it's getting slowly more irksome. Belay that, it's not the point.
This led to my seeking that picture of Willi and in so seeking I saw this:

This thing we do, this climbing, it's seductive. Taunting peaks in the clouds, romantic pictures of old grandads out on extreme 5.9, and the whistling of wind off the cliffs, augmented by campfire/picnic table talk.
I was at Coffee Bandits this afternoon, and Chip, about 35-40, who works there has been to YV once. I showed him my copy of Fitschen's book yesterdy and today he informed me that he was goina take up rock climbing.
I shook his hand and said I'd supply him with some advice and that it was free. You know how that is seen. Anyway, he came back to me later with thanks, and told me that he has a 28 year old GF who's a climber (found out from Alyssa in the used book store she's also a bike-riding fool) and that he ought not to get involved with other things like history, etc., and that it was important to him to learn the basics blah-blah. It didn't hurt my feelings any, for sure. He was polite and it's all good.
I got home and could not find the photo of Willi, if it even exists outside of my mind (CRS--can't remember sht), but came across the above article.
Funny how that works. Rather a pointed statement of just what Chip was trying to say.
Then I went to the funeral home to set up a cremation plan. On the way back I found this butterfly of fabric in the weeds in the alley.
It occurs to me the body is a chrysalis. Death, then, is life. I'm cool with that.
So, having said that, there's this point and click routine, and what's up with that. Or what's goin' down with that?
