Currently snowing lightly but enough lay down. Calling for up to 30 inches tonite. Certainly won't help my job. 1/4 of a roof on, 3/4 to go!

Approaching 10" in my yard here on the east side of SLC. More to come, and cold.
This might be the weekend to break out the skis.

Epic drive home tonight.

The road up the mountains to our place was closed for an accident, and the round-about back way is still closed from the floods. The only other way up is "Winding Trail Road" which is a steep, curvy one lane road through a gated community posted "No Tresspassing". Karol drove it once in the daylight and dry conditions when our road was closed, and vowed to not do it again because of the hairpin turns, steep drop offs, and lack of guardrails, but then again she is a bit of a wimp about such things. I had to do it.

Fortunately I had 30 minute-old new sneakers on the Tundra, slipped it into 4WD, and crept up the 10 miles through 4" of untracked powpow. It was dark and the headlights wouldn't show past the falling flakes, so I have no idea how stupid this might have been, but I got home to a big batch of homemade chili.

Prospects are not good for getting down tomorrow, there are severe weather advisories for heavy snow and high winds through Wednesday night. At least I brought home some much needed dog food.

4F and snowing out here on the Divide in Montana. Lots of slipping and sliding today as noobies got their first taste of snow on ice on ice.

Saw two slide-offs on the country roads home from the hospital. I plan to watch it fall from a house window tomorrow. So glad I have wood and coffee.

You all stay warm and safe our there on the windy roads, and let's all dream of dragonflyskis. I am going to need to paint my skis, I can see this already. :) Doug once had a polka-dot pair he filmed on one of his Alaska climbing films. Old Super 8 film. :)

And keep on having entirely too much fun. I must ponder stenciling skis with some snowflaked dragonflies.

Ah well, I signed up for it. A few snow slidin' mountains would be handy.

snowed all day at 4200', picked up 2-4". Temps plummeted from a high of 40 at 6 am to about 10 now at 10:15pm.

Hope I can make it to Truckee in the morning to get my F-ed up collar bone/neck/shoulder tweaked & acu-punctured. Not even sure I could make a pole plant with out extreme pain right now. FACK!

So far. . . in 11 years, here, I haven't seen any rhyme or reason to the weather patterns. . . other than a shift from a Continental to Intermountain to Maritime, read: EVER WARMING, snowpack.

That can't be good. You're going to end up with Montana cement.
