You worry too much, you talka me to death, but you never seem to read enough between the lines, neebs.

to the norwegians and the lollie lady from skansas:
jeg skal gå på ski senere.

Chapter the First is now born and baptized.

I have progeny again, neebs, but other than that, I'm fine as frog hair and made it through my first day with no abuse of substance to report.

There is a new lady in my life.

Kitty.

I'm in heaven, and Gabe says "HI, GENE. STay clean, you horny bastion."

Shofar, my brethren, so good. As my man J.Steinbeck wrote,
"Once again the world was spinning in greased grooves."

Climbing metaphor: It's hard to let go sometimes, but let go you must.

listen @ 9:15

If you need someone to talk to as the wretched garbage is exiting your system (tearing you apart on its way out, because you know it will), you call me. I don't care what time it is, you call me. The new moving in may feel like demons straight from Hell, but like everything else, its edges will soften with time...and you will be a free bird.

listen @ 9:15 again

You are loved, Mouse. Like it or lump it.

You should know that a couple of hours ago, I saw and read for the first time (as it arrived in the mail today), Bill's Death Certificate.

Reading between the lines leaves lots of room for interpretation...scaring the living sh*t out of the people who love you? I know you don't want to inflict that kind of pain. Because I know your heart.

Well...not trying to read too deep into the Mouse....but, he always amazed me with his ability to just walk up to the edge and peer over, checking out 2,000 feet like it was 10. Me, I would be on all fours. Exposure was not an issue for him.

I'll give you a buzz next time i'm in the Ced.

I met Mr. Roth once at a car show in Balboa Park, San Diego. I managed to lose my weirdo shirt somehow through the years.

To be his friend, that's something else. I think he would have appreciated this thread. It is after all about carz. For those too young to remember.

Purblebee, plus however many for you.

Praise God for bringin' us together, you 'n me,
ALONE, but not really,
for your first real visit with Bill's beloved Yosemite.

He was, you see, unbeknownst to us, with us that night.

Glad he was not driving, huh?

The reason he chose me, I've figured it out, is my password into the B&N sales-generating tool, the computer: DOLT.

Why I chose that back in '97 when they initiated the system, I haven't a clue, except for the irony.

True irony is born, not made, in the so-called "Belle Lettres" gene, which you and I obviously have intact,
and so, of course, does MisterE, but he has yet to really get on track with it.
I have faith.

I was just thinking the other night, on the way over to the Mission,
that a band on the top of the Tioga might be a happening thing,
but the manager of the place, Rose the Compassionate, and her assistant, Tami the Tender,
are both afraid of heights.
That's right out, so why not ask the Lark Service for permits for the summit of Tis-a-ack?

Merry's bro is Billy Idol's bassist, David Lee Roth would jump on board,
and maybe we could light up the NW Face with a slide show.

That video lifted my spirit like a Forrest Gump feather.

I don't want to cut off something to spite anyone.

The flap with the eKitty still rankles.
I tried to raise our game in response to her pointed thrust. She won't answer any emails, sends them back.
I am so f*#khead up over a tiff with a long-standing poster that it makes my insides hurt when I think of it.

There, I've said it again.
It's like the gal in HS who won't dance with you because you really can't but
you don't know that and it hurts.

Trevanian, you rocked my world with your work.
The love for the Pyrenees and the Basque culture is there for the whole world to see.
I recommend they be read particularly by climbers who travel to other parts of the world.

Don't Try To Put No Poochie-Woochie On The King of Rocks In The Road Of Life.

We pulled off a rescue of a pit bull, a real sweetheart on the Main the other morning.
I was proceeding in a southeasterly di-rection, your grace, when I spied this couple and "their" dog.
He had no leash applied to no collar, and I thought I should observe them. It turned out to be the case, your grace, that the animal in question was on his own.
Since Budweiser trucks and such are frequently seen on the Main and are imimical
to dogs crossing the street on their own, we "streeties" decided to become the dog's friend
and while they watched the animal, I called out to the meter maid, Jessica the Just,
who was glad for a break from her task of metering out tickets to stupid people.
Fanque's Fair, do you recall?
P. Fanques http://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/pablo-fanques-fair-71575787/
Good stuff, from the Dog Whisperer and MORE BESIDES! www.smithsonianmag.com
She was glad to call it in, whereas Sally Sourpuss from Starbucks had not done so when I politely asked for her assistance.
Too many people in line, and only two to deal.
I had earlier looked for patrol patrol cars, but there were none.
An MPD Volunteer assisted with the round-up, providing a leash.
Then the Animal Control Officer arrived and he led the sweetest pit bull in the world to Babylon.
He explained the system to me when I asked and it's not as cruel as you might think;
but sad things happen to all of us even when we are trying to be "good dogs."
The animal is first of all checked for the presence of an ID chip. If one is there (and they HURT when they are inserted, but it beats the chamber) then their worries are over at the Animal Shelter.

If there is no chip, the "nasty dogs" are sent to the pound.

For the "tractable dogs," if they have no chip, they are sent to a five-day
shelter program.
The Shelter posts the dog on Craigslist and that remains up until the dog is adopted out,
but the five days is for the owner to check this place on the web.
I suppose this is explained to the owner when the chip is embedded.
If they don't claim the dog, it is available for adoption.

Relevance to climbing? Fucjh if I know.

Relevance to living a good life? All Joy Scouts should try to do a good deed daily.

There is no Basque Shepherd breed, right? Just the German and the Collie and all the rest.
Dogs understand more than we'll ever know. They have the best noses.

I heard about a $10,000 rescue-trained German Shepherd from Amyjo today.
He lives in Aspen and the lucky pooch is retired, too.
He lives with the Don of SAR, Mr. Ferrara, who doesn't drive no Ferrari.

Thanks, Amyjo.
Thanks, zBrown.

And thanks, Mr. Dolt.

Ron, it's a thankless task.
Really. Everyone's got an opinion, but not everyone is an azzahill, a mountain no more.

Scott Ruffalo, Liz's boy all the way, replied to this photo posted on FaceBook:
Scott wrote: "I love that sound. That and the sound of a good motorcycle. Sounds of freedom."

Scott owned a skateboard shop not once but twice, his mother managed the Modified Motorcycle Association, and his dad (now RIP, I found) was an ace scooter mechanic.

His shops were magnets for the young skaters. I should write that book, too.

Lift MacCahir Og your face, brooding oer the old disgrace when
Black Fitzwilliam stormed your place and drove you to the fern.
Grey said victory was sure soon the firebrand hed secure
Til he met at Glenmalure with Fiach MacHugh OByrne

Curse and swear Lord Kildare, Fiach will do what Fiach will dare
Now Fitzwilliam have a care, fallen is your star low
Up with Halberd, out with sword, on well go for by the Lord
Fiach MacHugh has given his word. Follow me up to Carlow.

[fiddles play A section of Swallowtail Jig]

See the swords of Glen Imaal, a flashing oer the English pale
See all the soldiers of the Gael beneath OByrnes banner
Rooster of a fighting stock would yet let the English c*#k
Cry out upon an Irish rock, fly up and teach him manners.

Curse and swear Lord Kildare, Fiach will do what Fiach will dare
Now Fitzwilliam have a care, fallen is your star low
Up with Halberd out with sword, on well go for by the Lord
Fiach MacHugh has given his word. Follow me up to Carlow.

[Intro Instrumental]
[fiddles play A section of Swallowtail Jig]

Now from Tassagart to Clonmore, there flows a stream of Saxon gore
And great is Rory Og OMore at sending loons to Hades
White is sick and Grey has fled, now for Black Fitzwilliams head
Well send it over dripping red, to Liza and her ladies

Curse and swear Lord Kildare, Fiach will do what Fiach will dare
Now Fitzwilliam have a care, fallen is your star low
Up with Halberd out with sword, on well go for by the Lord
Fiach MacHugh has given his word. Follow me up to Carlow.

Or down.

We can maybe have some bouldering on the Dolmen which may be related to zBrown.
Not one of the Monkees have ever seen it, likely, esp. Mickey Dolmen, Circus Freak Boy.

U2/Ordinary Love

The sea wants to kiss the golden shore
The sunlight warms your skin
All the beauty that's been lost before wants to find us again

I can't fight you any more, it's you I'm fighting for
The sea throws rock together but time leaves us polished stones

We can't fall any further
If we can't feel ordinary love
And we can't reach any higher,
If we can't deal with ordinary love

Birds fly high in the summer sky and rest on the breeze.
The same wind will take care of you and I.
We'll build our house in the trees.

Your heart is on my sleeve
Did you put it there with a magic marker?
For years I would believe that the would couldn't wash it away

'Cause

We can't fall any further
If we can't feel ordinary love
And we can't reach any higher
If we cannot deal with ordinary love

Are we tough enough for ordinary love?

We can't fall any further, if
We can't feel ordinary love
And we can't reach any higher,
If we can't deal with ordinary love

We can't fall any further, if
We can't feel ordinary love
And we can't reach any higher,
If we can't deal with ordinary love

Believe me, it's time for a sunbath on the Moussolini Balcony, some plane spotting, some pigeon dropping, and U NO.

But instead
I did head
to V.A. land.

Pneumonia?
Had to check,
What the heck.

No doctor
In today.

Got a ride:
Merced's pride
The Bus, Gus.

No big fuss,
Miranda's there
In Raley's Square.

I took my camera out for the sake of preparedness.
I know that you never know,
but if you have the camera,
then you can tell
during "show and tell."
So I landed a ride when a friend of Skip's, Neil Camp, saw me and stopped to say, "What's happenin', Mouse?"
Got the appt. and went to the bus stop, but not fast, it was a nice afternoon, lots of time. I went into Miranda's, lately of the Main.
Door stop, wet day, she's there, I say
Please share my umbrella
Door stop, bus goes, she stays, love grows
Under my umbrella.--Hollies
6 bits used to mean seventy-five cents. It was once the price of a shave and a haircut.I'm only flesh and blood
But I can be anything that you demand
I could be president of General Motors baby, heh
or just a tiny little grain of sand.--Al Kooper

I intend to write on the Coonrods and the Larsons, my mom's side of my family,
the ones know as the wild ones to the other side, the Berminghams and the Millers.
They were in their glory days. If you can call the Depression glorious at all,
this might be the place.

How glorious to have worked all night, in a generated-light highway construction site,
only to have to go home watching a sunrise that's coming from directly in front of you,
as you travel over the section of the road you just finished.
How much pride do you feel in the accomplishment?

Or how glorious to have a famous celebrity pop his head in the door of your shop and ask,
"Can I get a shave here, or should I go find a barber, ladies?"
Nana could shave your mug, no problem.
Do you say, after the shave,
"Why, yes, I'd love to go out with you. My husband just went on swing shift.
I'll just close up a little early?"

Nana never was baptized, but Leonard, my grandad, was a Catholic.
As were Gramma and Grampa B. I'm pretty sure their approval rating was good,
because they both did have jobs, when they moved to Redding for the construction of
Shasta Dam at the end of the Great Depression.
Plus, they liked Bobbye, my mom, as who would not?

The result so far in my efforts is one chapter, some half-dozen vignettes, and some research into the past.
It's a pleasant thing, writing about people you knew all your life till their death,
as it memorializes them, shows you cared about the times you shared, and entertains others (one hopes).
It must be quite different for Lilabiene, having no intimate knowledge nor having even spoken to Bill or her mother.

I've been watching The Shadow STrikes, a story about LaMont Granston, the Shadow, in order to get the feel of that era. Besides, it's a mystery, like much of Larson history. I hope to travel to Idaho someday this year.

I need to see more and earlier films, so that the scenes can be accurately described.

"T Hocking, put down that shiv. This is a gunfight, not a knife fight. I like that homburg, by the way."
