so cool neebee thank you again and again

and thank you Gene--here's today's sunrise photo, like Tom Evans says, "...just for you, unique in all the world."
I'm looking forward to reading the forewords, the acknowledgements, the glossaries, the texts themselves, as well as looking at the pictures and reading the captions.

For over 1000 years, in many parts of Africa, there has been a belief that wearing this type of African jewelry would protect you from illness, keep you from harm, and bring you great fortune. Many Africans believe elephants serve as a link between heaven and earth. The hairs represent certain aspects (strands) of the wearer's life such as love, health, wealth, and harmony. The knots in the bracelet represent god's hands holding together the strands.

I'm thinking, maybe I should have kept wearing one.

Perhaps if you wear one long enough you can graduate to one of the gold versions which are known to sell for as much as $8500.00.

hey there say, mouse...

here is barbarian's gift, FROM THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS POEM,
to you...
(if it never shows up, we are working on 'getting a real one')

:)

On the forth day towards Christmas, came something about a place he loves...
where the stars shine bright, from the moon, and all the aboves...

I WILL try to post the one, tomorrow, but if i am late, might have to wait 'til day 6 and post two???
some upsetting family health stuff is going on, and i don't know
how i will feel--it all depends on if i get any news today, :(
been waiting for my mom to call... :( can't share more, yet...

fletcher is up for the 5th day 'til christmas,

(6 will be skully)

happy good day with the niece!

Icebreaker racing ...

I was wondering whether the rescue will count as 12 days worth of presents.

Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills, Business Ethics.

I must however question the ethics part. Two Tagalong cookies contain 5 grams of saturated fat plus 8 grams of sugar. I was wondering if they couldn't find another product to peddle which might be a little bit more heathful.

And if that does not give uPaws, then consider the case of Surfer's Eye
(Pterygium, probably climbers are susceptible as well).

Booty!

Thank you, guys and girls.

I got back after six, having done Sunnyside with my neice, Amy, and we visited the Brains, then we split up and she drove to her mom's, and I booked home, cuz I KNEW something was gonna happen.

I insured that with a little sunny surprise for neebee. You may receive it in three days. Let's hope so.

Truthfully, our expedition was one of those things you don't want to go through.

1. Amy could not get up the chimney with the backpack. We stuffed it with one CPO shirt I had worn, didn't need on the climb, her jacket, too, and a downie I'd carted along. The long lens. My camera, her camera, her cigs, my pipe, her brush, my wallet, keys, z headlamps (Fletcher--it's coming back with the "goods" next weekend and sorry for the delay on that), and a bottle of water.

2. I climbed fine with the rope and it felt good to lead that with no pro, just like I used to do on the face--the chimney's too much effort anyway, but her shoes were not giving her the confidence for that, so she elected the chimney. I rapped down, saying "Some other WARM sunny day." It was 34 degrees in the valley at nine, when I pulled into Camp 4. The clothing was needed, the walking barely kept us warm due to my slothful pace--Fletcher and CC and T Hocking know about that.

So she learned the trad basics, the bowline on a coil, the proper belay signals, how to throw a rope for rapping, how to coil it, and the only thing I didn't show her was belaying itself, as she had done some at Red Rocks, where her hiking group heads on weekends.

She loved the experience, as I knew she would. She's a kindergarten teacher in LV, and when she met Merry the Mrs. Brain, they had a good chat about her trying to apply at Yosemite's school for a position. Couldn't hurt. NO O, CC, but to quote Amy, "It's not for me any more." She's divorcing, see.

It was a beautiful morning and then the sun scum came and stayed. It was warmish, but coldish, too. We had twenty bucks to blow at Degnan's from Werner's selling the last of my iron. We had sandwiches and beer and then hit the road.

At Degnan's true to the scarfer's code, I bagged a sandwwich from one of the picnic tables that had been sitting there unattended while we ate. What else would one of you do? Look for the stupid owner?

Thanks again, Werner. And Merry, wonderful to see you. And your cat's really not named Cherry (where did I get that?), it's "Simon" but really "Sy" but Werner called her Simon, so. And she's not male. Beauty in the fur.

DO NOT LET THE CAT OUT should be a name of a climb up back of your place.

And now for some cheese & crackers and that left-over Half Dome brew.

Elephant bracelets are cool. NEVER take one off. EVER.

Is that YOUR eye, man? Mine only has a synthetic lens.

I wore the tie-dye, Cosmic, and I'm sure it helped my confidence. The approach shoes were just the ticket for this stuff today, but I will send the Fires. Thanks, Dwain. Much appreciated.

AND GENE, would you give me a call tonight or tomorrow, I'm having trouble with the phone. I'll email tonight anyway.

Upon opening the package, lo! the strapping is from the USPS, not neebee, I know she doesn't use plastic strapping. And there was a big old wad of clear plastic bubble wrap on top of the wadded wrapping paper used in the first packaging.

Here is what I found inside the box.
Solves the mystery, but still...

So far, no damage apparent, but I haven't dug into it yet.

The prayers of the mousehold for your problems with family, neebee.

I'll be opening only those you've gone over, the biscuits and books, fer sure. And the picture from Barbariano the Handsome.

Thanks, Barbarina, and thanks for the picture. It's real mellow, like y'all.

BTW, man, Melanie's no longer interested in her soldier boy. He's being assigned to cook's school. She is disenchanted. She asked about the handsome tall guy with the camera. Oh, she did, too!

Fruitcake becomes this crowd and the amount of foil on that thing is like armor plating. You know, man can't live on fruitcake alone, but mice do their very best! The tea is very nice--I hardly ever get exotic tea.T Hocking's group has a real nice song named dragonfly. BELIEVE IT OR NOT!

I'd like to state that the fruitcake is beaucoup #1!

Thanks for the faux silver tray, the cheeses, and the crackers. This time of year, the Cheeses of Nazareth are mostly sold out. I understand. The string cheese is fine. The mice are using it to jump rope.

What are these other wee sleekit beasties in these packages? The second wave has landed.

neebee, I shall attend that matter next Monday, when the opportunity presents itself.

your FLAMES (posters) here, LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH...
YES, A BIT GOOFY you all can be ;)... and mysterious words, abound...
but you create much:
merced history notes here... and climbing history notes... and fun art...

so we can just take care over the 'slippery stones' or 'mossy ones' that 'only flames' can really understand here, and:

we can THUS ENJOY the:
river of pics, notes, and even california scenery of yosemite and who KNOWS WHAT ALL that appears from the ol' camera!

thank you for that... and happy 12 days AFTER CHRISTMAS, :))

WELL HERE ARE THE VERSES FOR THE NEXT GIFT,
FLETCH IS FIVE, AND SKULLY IS SIX:

On the fifth day towards Christmas, came something to keep him warm
and cozy...
as about more gifts, he NOW gets NOSY!...

AND on the sixth day towards Christmas, speaking of nosy and warm and cozy, most likely he needs a gift for OUTSIDE...
one that will work on trips to town, YET, still function, for when at home, he does ABIDE...

The booklist:
Soups, Stews, and Casseroles
The FINE Wines of California (Is there a "Good Enough Wines of Minnesota?")
America's Seashore Wonderlands
California Scenic Highway No. 1 (Indeed "Numbah One!")
A vintage 1965 copy of Christmas Ideals (Treasure Chest of "good things" predating Martha)
Dider's Regest ON THE ROAD USA (On a fresh roll of Charmin, my true love gave to me...Take that Mister Kerouac!)

Sleekit: sleek, smooth (indeed they are, eerily so)
crafty, deceitful (as they must)

All things are frozen outside today. Merced temperature is all of 32 degrees and if you think I'm going out photographing in freezing fog, yer nuts, nuttier than a fruitcake.

Fruitcake? Let us eat the fruitcake!Opened books. Fletcher knows.Gene, call me this a.m., please.

Will wait till later on today when people are awake to enjoy the next two gifts.

I'd just like to say, and Amy agrees, that the only appropriate response to all this outpouring of gratitude is this.

It has come to my attn. that neebee bought the books. She must, therefore, have bought the rest of the gifts. Boxed it all up. It weighed enough, that's for sure, maybe twenty-five to thirty pounds. It was wheeled up here to Middle Earth on a dolly, not a dollie like in the Dolly-mights.

I was just showing these gifts to the gal downstairs, Marina, and her daughter, a three-year-lol'd, and I paid her the ten I owed for some smoke her old man sold me, and she went, "We were on our last dollar."

The Lord is a Mystery unto me. That He always shall be.
And if I don't get it today, then tomorrow, maybe.

The Christmas that kept on giving, once it got underway.

Marina mentioned she is still getting boxes of gifts, as well, so this year has been a bear for the USPS, and it can logically get only worse. I have discovered that not just the USPS, but both the VA and the IRS as well, all fit into the same category, that is, gov't. entities turned into business concerns which the gov't can't control since they are what they are. I don't know what that portends, but it fits the capitalistic profile to a T.

Speaking of tea, since Gene spilled the beans about neebee's HUGE self-assignment, the fruitcake is especially good if heated in the 'wave and drunk with Folger's Crystals that are cooked for six minutes in the boiling water of a cup in the 'wave, as well, but it takes five minutes to cool enough to drink. The flavor is...unique.

As is neebee, who's much more than appreciated, she's LOVED!
