I'm so glad to be able to dance and boogie-woogie, even in the spastic style I've adopted from this terpsichorean genius, Elaine Travolta.

It's been a loooooong day. But it was a Tony the Tiger day: Grrrrrrrrrreat!

I didn't quite make it to the River Hamble (Southampton), but I bade good day to Joleen and Heike at the Hamlet rehearsal, among many other things.

It's late and I need to sort things out, fix some pix, and enjoy the meal I just had.

A demain and it's great to see you all in good spirits.

Find me some Musically Migratory route to Rio de Februario, Okay?

Reilly, a topless '63? I love the whitewalls.

Cosmic, it's probably just me, but you remind me of Kim Simmonds, no sh#t. It must be soul.

And the very next day the Merced Sun-Star's picking up on what I'm laying down. And the problem with the leakage at the G St. undercrossing has been referred to the City Manager by Big Tony D. It was brought to my attention this evening by a phone call from a friend, Marcel Simon, who saw the crew at work this morning on one side of the bridge. It's gratifying to know someone cared.

And today, like neebee says, it's energy to burn one day, one time of day, and another day, it's an all-nighter. It's one way.

I felt all energized after talking to Lenna, who called just after I posted last...

So here's a taste of what's to come from today's walk.

You use the duck and anything else that suits you and the same for anyone else. This forum's a gold mine and sometimes the treasure's in your head, sometimes it's only of value to the poster.

My adventures with the camerea here are setting me up for the ones I want to have In The Mountains, On The Crags, etc. It's that learning curve I spoke of earlier.

As to the braind-teachery you mentioned, neebee, my brain's getting taught to respond to photo opps and do it efficiently and with confidence and stealth, if need be. I am sure you can relate, as well, Gypsy and zBrown--you are both real good at the picture-taking stuff, to say the least.

I find cats are excellent targets on these walks, and birds are just where you find them. It's also non-foliage time and seeing things through a screen of branches is better than having them hidden by leaves. The birds aren't really here as the season's still early. Lots of early buds out now, too.

I'm hoping to repeat an adventure I had with the Rev two years ago last spring, when we drove out to the middle of the San Joaquin and were treated to the use of a viewing platform some twenty-five feet above the surrounding terrain. So we saw thousands and thousands of migrant waterfowl like snow geese and otheres from that spot. This was the result of purest happenstance, uh, God's wanting us to see the display. :)

And as far as IDing birds, well, I'm so new I thought that was a mallard, but you say wood duck. Good call.

Cats like the dark. They are midnight ramblers.

I like the Mick Taylor version of the Stones better than the later or even the earlier, just because he was a protege of John Mayall. It's just me.

But the song, it's the thing, not the singer, or is it?
