I think it's extremely funny that someone thought that would be a good idea...as for the humor of the injury or the event, no, I do not think that's funny...this is why I asked if anyone knew the full story...sorry, I though people here could interpret that correctly..common sense isn't so common anymore..as we can see from the above video...

Wooohoooo....

Stunts like that really seem ridiculous....Darwin award status....not too concerned about the stuntmen paying the consequences of things like this.

Cable anchor failed, shoulda placed more bolts ;-)

cool stunt. They probably should have tied it down (redundant untensioned cable) to avoid the whole thing falling on him if it snapped like it did

I was bracing myself to watch somebody crash into a rock wall at 100 mph, but got to admit this was pretty funny. BTW its better to practice the gymnastics first before jumping off:
