I would be willing to bet that Verner has soloed more pitches in the Valley than anyone else . . . straight up quality individual too.

^Dude climbs and golfs? Maybe could have given Mr. Bachar a run for his money, eh?

Uh, moose, where are your clubs?

Though they use a lot of water and spread dangerous chemicals around, mind you, I'm not anti-golf. Though I never played, I cashed the checks they gave me.

The only time I met him .. we looked at each other, I kinda shrugged in sadness.. he replied in kind..

It was a bad day in the meadow and on the big stone.

Good man.

Get off Werner's case. He is a friendly guy who never met a conspiracy he didn't like.

Werner protects us here as well as in the Big Valley. When he blankets us in stupid he is protecting our inner cuddle buddy. Semper Farcissimus. Thanks Werner.

Werner isn't a bully except in the benevolent sense. He's a Philosopher King running counter-intelligence on our pathetic little earth bound souls. It took me awhile but I get it now.

I give kudos to Werner and John Dill.....living in the ditch for nearly half a century is an endurance feat that Guiness should recognize.

Totally agree with Jim.
Two really remarkable individuals who have given an unbelievable amount of service to the climbing community.

Two questions as regards the Wernmeister Brauntosaurus:

1. What's his degree of hearing impairment, and was it gradual or has it been the same since youth?

2.Where did he grow up?

To: Captain Chaos
From: Tim Bermingham
Delivered by: MFM, his older brother

Hi!

Tim mentioned he saw your name in the McKinney thread during his "annual phone call."

I don't think Tim's been on skis for quite a while. He golfs three times a week.

And to set the record straight, Werner doesn't golf...are you guys nuts?

One thing you should know about Werner. He can turn off his hearing aid or leave it on, as the situation demands.

And I'm pretty certain that John Dill's hearing is leaving the building, too.

Another good one from the past, like the one from Tobin's collection. Thanks again, Werner, the bodhisattva.

Hadn't seen Werner in a couple of years, but ran into him in Tuolumne last week.

For a prickly guy online, I sure got a nice hug from The Man!

Hope Merry's knee heals up soon!
