I thought this was great writing,

And

I definitely saw similarities to the classic Tucker Tech, Walt Shipley and Deuce profiles from the glory days of Climbing Mag

Thoroughly enjoyed the piece! Alpinist is no mag but rather literature.

Just read this one today, courtesy of some Front Range friends who don't let subscriptions lapse.

I like the theme of the guy just going out and climbing stuff for his own reasons, out there by his lonesome on a pretty wall. The ditch can be such a scene but you don't have to hike terribly far to have your own thing.

And yes, cool art.

As far as I am concerned Chris van Leuven is very talented and hopefully knows this by now! He could write for a living God help him!
