Dear McTopo and Yosemite climbing community,
I am approaching you-all today with my helmet in my hand and my tail between my legs*, and with an Olive Branch of King Cobras extended towards you.
I want you to know that I have read every single word each of you has written. I have heard your words loudly, and I have heard your words clearly. And I want you to know with certainty that I will obey your words. You have helped me to realize the gravity of the situation. Emphatically, I "get it" - the Tribe has spoken, with clarity and without ambiguity, and in fact even unanimously - a rare thing round here. You have shown me what is no longer acceptable behaviour. Please know that the person helping me did so only with significant arm twisting on my behalf.
I appreciate Tom holding me accountable. Sometimes I have a hard time viewing the world from outside my own eyes, and I needed a good swift kick in the ass to wake me up. You can count on me in the future to pay the price of finishing up the wall in proper style.

For more than a decade the Park Service and a very large number of climbers have been learning to work together. What you did and what the other recent incident has done is to put us all in a very bad position. What is the Park Service to say if it happens again and someone is hurt?
If you were in their position, what would you do?
This is the question each and every climber now needs to ask themselves.
Thanks for the apology and admitting you made a mistake. That takes guts. Its important that we hold ourselves to high standards of conduct and safety and tossing is part of it. no hard feelings on my end.

I for one think you're selfish and reckless, and ignorant to act like you only realize after being publicly called out , the danger and carelessness of tossing your sh#t show off El Cap.
It's no secret that it's illegal and quite obviously dangerous. I think you deserve to be charged and made an example of.

Unbelievable in this day and age! Had this been during the spring or fall wall season, the culprits would have been caught because so many people are around the wall. Too bad Tom Evans wasn't around with his telescope.

We can all get stuck in our own heads and habits.. sometimes it takes your community and friends to give ya a swift kick in the ass to clear the blinders.
Rumor has it you were slated for the up and coming new show that Simon Cowell has created called American Pariah. Appears Simon was to make a once only exception for a Canadian.
We know that vigilant moderation is a necessary evil in an on-line community such as this, and sometimes threads do get out of control, cross the "imaginary line" and must be terminated, and members need to be occasionally chastised and disciplined as well for their irresponsible behavior.
It may take a small amount of getting used to, as we do have reasonable standards as far as language and image posting that are strictly enforced. The registration is easy and painless, and the rules will be explained in detail during the process.
i am not the NPS air drop police, but i will just advise anyone out there who pays attention over time, be aware that character is a measure of what people will do when nobody is looking, not so much a measure of hoe they respond when they are busted or called out in public.
I will warn you however up front that registering an ALIAS and/or "trolling" is strictly "VERBOTEN", and something we have zero-tolerance with. If you are tired of the juvenile behavior here at Supertopo and yearn for a responsible climbing forum that matches your maturity level, all I can say is: "Come join the fun"! :)

How many times has Pete dude tossed his shet in the past six years and has basically done the same as he has done on this thread?
What inquiring minds really want to know: does this mean that Tom will resume publicizing the vertical junk show, will PTCSP, aka TTHBP, continue to attract new clusterfvcks to grab the bottom rungs of his aiders--where his putrid feet consistently reside--in order to worship at them, adore him, and slaver over the names he incessantly drops in his oh-so-helpfully-self-serving posts???
I just want to apologize for my part in this whole thing. In my 19 previous grade VI ascents of El Cap, I had never done this before. Those of you who know me realize that I am a minimalist and have endured several end-of-route epics from lack of water and food. I had no idea that it would turn into the sh|tfest that it did - I hadn't fully considered the consequences. I did read every single post, and I hear you guys loud and clear. And rest assured, this will never happen again on my watch.
