WBraun,
I plan to be on top of the capitan' on Saturday. It just so happens I will have Advil, and tiger Balm with me.
My new plans are to toss the sh#t over the edge.
I will then Rap the hole face with a single rope, and wait for Pete's bootie.

I too was shocked to hear of Pete's customary method of getting his bags down after one of his epic wall ascents. How has this NOT been reported to Park Police or a ranger so that he can get cited just like the poor fool Chris whats-his-name that tried to rap off El Cap and got ripped (including by Pete)? Everyone was so incensed that young Chris and his clueless partner endangered YOSAR etc. in having to be rescued. Well, Pete's exploits are 10,000 times more dangerous and risky to many more than YOSAR. How can he chime in with lectures to Hudon and others about safe practices and ethics on El Cap and yet repeatedly toss his bags off the top of the cliff? He's the worst kind of hypocrite and it's a miracle no one has been hurt or killed by his selfish lazy actions.

Does anyone know a rhyme or a reason?
Maybe enroute he gotta broke back and he couldn't carry his shite down?
Or
Maybe he quit climbing all together and hucked his shite out of despair?
Anyway, it sounds like a yard sale. how much for the Porta ledge?

What did he expect, he was already called out on it once.
That is certainly the Canadian in him.

I personally thin it's great that the climbing community can try to keep people accountable. We don't need LEO's. We just need Booty Pirates

What's Canadian got to do with it?
What a stupid thing to say.
You have to be a total idiot to throw your bags off these days.
It's been against the law for years.
Pete already knows the law since he reads and posts to this site along with all
the seasons he's been active climbing on El Cap along with people calling him out about doing it.

Apparently Pete has seen the light, and will not be tossing in the near future.

Or you could meet him at the bridge and tell Him what you think instead of being an inter-web tough guy.
Just a thought.

I do not think throwing your sh#t down is a good idea, of course. But I remember him being quite nice on forums to some of the beginners, including myself. He even invited a few to join him on a wall for a few pitches.
Maybe he had a rough situation up there? Or who knows. All of us humans are not perfect and have done things that none of us would be proud of. Living with not being welcome on the bridge is a fairly severe price to pay for your sins already.
Hope he learned his lesson and does not do it again.

Wow, so much hate. So much self-righteous indignation.
How many of you have never broken a rule in the Park? Never bivied in the boulders? In your van?
I did for years.
Has anyone ever been killed by a falling haulbag? Sure, I guess it could happen but the odds???
Did he parachute it or just let it fly?
Way back in the 90s when I was doing walls the bag toss was commonplace, and no, I never did. And no, I’m not a huge Pete fan.
I guess what I’m saying is- when did tattling to the tool on your fellow climber become so cool. Kind of makes me want to take up golf or something.

I don't see how I am being a tough guy. If I saw him in person, which I most likely never will, I would say the same thing.
"Are you F-ing crazy thowing sh#t off the capitan"
However, I didn't say a thing to attack his character other than he was a wanker.
I just wanted Bootied gear.
The thought that the community spoke load and clear, and he apparently listend (which is still to be proven), is a great thing. Others were talking about the LEO's getting involved.
This just goes to show we don't need no stinking LEO's just a bunch of internet hardman.

To be a proper dosser Reilly, you have to be an unemployed climber living in Wales.
edit: You know, come to think of it, I'm not sure there are any employed climbers in Wales.
