Usually REI contact me prior to the clean-up, but I must've got into their bad books I guess. I'm sorry I missed it.
Mark and Guy are right though, the regulars just bouldering and picking trash up as they climb is really making a difference.

Thanks to the folks who did show up! Everyone got a pretty good haul as usual.
I targeted the junky hangout on the north side this year. The trash-slot was deep with garbage. I could barely lift the bags when I was done and it's not really a large space to clean up. Sorry to report I picked up more syringes than cigarette butts at that particular location, but it's clean for now.
REI really needs to provide trash grabbies for all that nastiness. It's safer and you can pick up 2-3X as much trash in the same amount of time. I'm shooting them an email to see what can be done to get some for the future.
