Upon knives: As a young boy I saw a knife my grandfather had. He used the knife with great skill rinsing fish and cutting wood. It had the head of an "indianer" on the sheath. My younger brothers and me thought the knife was magic. We were promised to get knives when we were some years older. We always remembered the promise, but for some reason never got a knife. Lately, clearing out the house after my grandmother used by my mother and her sister, I found the knife in a drawer. It looked just as it looked when I was young, though it wasn't magic any longer... It's a Solingen, Made in Germany, DBGM.

The shaft is far from perfect, but the head is quite well preserved.
