The White Horse Prophesy was written down by Rushton some time after Joseph supposedly spoke it. It could be completely fabricated or an inaccurate delineation of what Smith said. As such it isn't accepted canon..
A flake like Glen Beck can take a vague, highly metaphorical draft like the White Horse Prophesy and hyperbolize on it and embroider in his own interpretations and some people might take the upshot as accepted Mormon dogma

I'm pretty sure some good things would come from a Romney presidency.
But...
-protecting the environment and encouraging the development of alternative energy aren't among them...
As a climber and an ecologist looking at the state of the world today I could not vote for a party that has such blatant disrespect for the planet.
-also the GOP position on social issues is extremely invasive and perverse. I would call it anti-freedom. Living under any form of theocratic rule would be multiple steps backward for our country.
Also there is no plan from the GOP whatsoever to clean things up economically or otherwise. What is proposed is purely idealogically driven. There is no way to measure success or failure. The measure of success is adherence to the idealogy. Anything spoken to the public is probably a lie (as evidenced by the Ryan speech).
