The first splendid addition to the roster is none other than Bob Swift!

He will be telling a few Salathé stories and talk about the second ascent of the Lost Arrow Chimney done with Warren Harding and Frank Tarver over four days in mid-July 1954 almost seven years after the FA!

I've stayed at the~ Oakdale Motel 6 several times recently ..It's cheap and clean with a passable restaurant next door...The price is $ 69.00 for two, though a friend of mine got a room for $57.00 on Priceline.

>DO NOT STAY AT THE ~ HOLIDAY MOTEL IN OAKDALE....< Unless you like... bed bugs, a Very Stinky room, drug dealers, creepy in house residents, etc......you can read the reviews about this place..... >>>AND YES, I'M YELLING....YOU HAVE BEEN OFFICIALLY WARNED.

This place is on the list.^... CREEPY and YUCKY....^^

This one needs a bump. So who is going? I'm pretty sure I will make it if I can work out the details. This should be a good one. I'm trying to get Yerian to go with me.

I'm trying to get Yerian to go with me.

Lots of luck with that, Wayno! Yerian already betrayed me this season and took off for the Bay after he promised to belay me on my new crack in T. Meadows. Fair weather friend!

It's not luck, just guilt, Bruce. Are you gonna go? I haven't seen you in ages.

Thanks Lynne. It sounds like you are not going to make it? Too bad, I'm looking forward to our meeting some day.

I just talked to Don Gordon and told him about the Festival. He was very excited and wished he could go and meet up with some old climbing buddies. He remembers guys like Royal as being the youngsters. Funny stuff.

Steve, I just posted a response for Dave Yerian, Wayne Miller and Steve Smith on Facebook. They plan on attending and are jazzed about the event.

Please put me down also, I'm pretty sure I can get there but I need to check with my manager for the time off.

Stellar Dude!!! Thanks to all who are making this happen. I'm at Lee Vining Library and don't have time to read all the posts. Is Mimi coming???

Cheers and Love, Lynnie

Damn, this sounds phenomenal! It's a long commute - 1800 miles as the crow flies - but I'll do my best to make it.

Yeah,

Looking forward to this!

Out of bullfighting, racing cars and mountain climbing, I long ago chose the climbing part.

A real event, celebrating the fantastic wealth of stories, equipment, and wild and wonderful characters in the world of climbing.

Though I may have to try out the car racing part en route from Colorado....woohoo!

Thanks Steve

Oakdale Ca is the self proclaimed cowboy capital of the world...I would say must stop for dirtbags would be the H-B saloon in Oakdale..for you all not familiar...that is the H...Bar...B saloon. Cowboys and climbers....the event will be great...the after hours will be interesting. Can climbers throw a lasso with a 10.5 mil rope?

edit....also you must figure out before you enter if you are a header or a heeler.....if you don't know what that is you best look it up....

If I was on that side of the Pacific I would definitely be there.
Please post photos and reviews afterwards for those of us who can't make it.
