Mooch, that photo is great... did a friend also on a bike take it?
I love the backdrop...
Thank you for sharing, Mooch!

Beautiful, much needed rain this morning
with a gray sky
welcoming in the color blue.
A long, productive rehearsal for the show
And love, every where...
In every form.

Here's the "ManzerWedge"
And. . . here's the back. . . Brazilian rosewood, supplied by the patron.

Wedged body makes the guitar easier to hold and play. Linda Manzer designed it and gave Blanchard permission to incorporate it into his guitars. Awesome.
Stunning instrument... the recipient will be delighted!
Thanks for sharing, Kath. ;)

Yeah. . . the patron loves it. Here's a shot of the top. It's cedar. Paired with that Braz, it's going to have a warm, full sound, that's for sure!

Is the metal thingy in the sound hole a pick up ?
Yes. I just sent Blanchard an E asking what's up with it. . . it appears to just be a mic. . . we'll see what he says.
At first I was thinking you meant the inlay of Paua abalone in the rosette. . . duh.
:-)

Thanks Kath about the rosette. I just can't figure out the black and silver "rod" thing behind the strings in center of the sound hole. What is it ?
EDIT : I'm interested in the answer as well.

Yeah. . . here's the scoop on that pick-up:
K & K Trinity. It's the usual K &K setup plus a mic. The two signals go out of the guitar to an outboard preamp where they are blended into a mono signal that goes to the amp.
It's what the customer wanted.
