Susan, Just came out of My Fair Lady with eye make-up streaming down my face. The Accustomed to her Face song had me bawling, it was so beautiful. I've seen about 20 performances here and this show was the best. They sort of broke into Stomp at the end of I'm Getting Married in the Morning, and Freddy did a humorous stalker version of On the Street Where You Live.

What got me during was remembering how my parents played the record of this over and over when I was a girl. They were better people than I gave them credit for.

Shrew review: rockabilly meets beach boardwalk where father of hellcat Kate and pretty Bianca runs an Italian sausage stand. Above the stand sits a band that plays Stray Cats/ Billy Idol riffs. Staging: skulls and red roses, tats, top siders, vans, super soakers, KFC. Show ends with guitar-wielding shrew couple singing a rockabilly duet. Fun take for sure.

So Leggs, quick question since you're a mom and have studied law. If my daughter has returned to college and her half-consumed Easter basket sits alone in her room, how many days must mom wait before raiding its contents?

Going to Tahoe for free this weekend!! To, uhm, learn to ski...? I've only ever xc so this should be fun, especially considering I can hardly walk without pain. But free! Gotta go. Thanks WWP.

Simply watch ... and then feel it.

"The artist Marina Abramovic did a 2010 performance art piece at the Museum of Modern Art, where she sat in a chair, and, one by one, people could sit opposite her and look into her eyes. It was a powerful experience even with strangers, but then her former love Ulay arrived without her knowledge. This video shows the moment she sees him. Apparently they had had a passionate love affair back in the 70s, but when they felt the relationship was fizzling, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting in the middle for a last hug and never seeing each other again. Here they are, meeting once again."

My girlfriend... and soul sister shared this...
and I fell in love.

. . . wait a minute. . . these people each walked 2,750 miles from opposite ends of the Great Wall of China, (which is 5,500 miles long) to meet in the middle and hug goodbye?

HOW IN THE SAM HILL LONG DID THAT TAKE?

Awesome photos, Larry!!! LOVE the Barefoot.
Thanks for sharing the livin'!

I'm on week three of working 6 days a week... I'm worn out and a bit punch drunk.

My girl is leaving the non-profit for a great new position with a for-profit school. I will miss our little videos. This one is from Wednesday...

So, I uncovered two clips of me singing two of my original songs with my friend and AMAZE BALLS guitarist, Kane. (Songs originally written with piano)

Watching these cracked me up... and made me cringe ... all at the same time...
(Warning... sound quality SUCKS.)

;)

EDIT: Since discovering the singing clips, I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out WHY I was performing/singing.

It was a fund raiser following the Jan. 8th mass shooting here in Tucson, two weeks after the shooting ...
A bitter sweet performance

Like the first song especially. Come to Facelift where the guitarists far outnumber vocalists. Maybe Ekat can come too.

Ekat, you once offered me your Yellow Pines site a few FLs ago. That was so nice of you.

Thanks, man. I appreciate your kindness, Larry!

Singing is my passion, and yet I nearly stop breathing when it comes time to perform, esp my original songs. I feel so vulnerable... as though I'm sharing the words of my diary.

I never experience that issue when I do a theater production. I think with theater, there is a certain comfort level in being able to be a "different" person on stage and in front of an audience. I'll allow my characters to be vulnerable, because it's not me.
I think about the last production, in which my character is SO vulnerable, it was emotionally draining at times.

Yep.

Carry on...

Thank you, Sullly!
I wrote that song about losing my mother, and the years that pass, and the loss felt. (not to be depressing or anything!)

The second song is based off the ending of my favorite movie, Dr. Zhivago.

Facelift... I looked at my calendar ... I think I can make it work out. Flagstaff mid month... return to work for a week (or so) and THEN take an additional week off.

At least that's what I'm putting out to the Universe!
