I heard this one day, on FM radio, at my mom and dad's place. I had NO idea who sang it, no idea what it was called. . . but I did remember the opening line and the tune. . . and I sang, just that, over and over and over over the years. . . well. . . some 30 years later, there was this thing called the INTERNET. . . and I pulled a huge GOOG (they rhyme) on that opening line. . . and I'll be a MotherFather if I didn't find it.

I LOVE IT.

YAY!

Sometimes it's just one person that defines a whole family's happiness. Bill and I literally evolve around this guy and we seriously don't mind.

Say panYAYs. . . and they're saddlebags, for lack of a better descriptor. You know. . . those backpack looking bags that hang off the rear rack of a bike. . . or a motorcycle, for that matter.

I was secretly hoping you'd say "I was referring to my chonies, LM" :)

Captain... Great song... the lyrics... {thanks for sharing!}

"it’s my home—last night I dreamt that I grew wings
I found a place where they could hear me when I sing
we floated on to Hanford on a lumber boat up river
past the fisheries and the milltowns like a stretch of future graveyards
she was driven to distraction—said I wonder what will happen
when they find out they’re mistaken and the land is too changed to ever change ..."

The rose on the face part makes me cringe with laughter!
Oh My GOD. The best. THE BEST.

{too cute...}

Notes for Leggs from morning session:
Do not read Shakespeare as if it's the Torah. In Shrew, Kate's final monologue is not to be viewed with irony; look at it in the context of the Great Chain of Being. Shaw was big on suffrage, so in all productions Eliza should go her way.

The dramaturge is amazing. I sat next to a mom and daughter who met Matthew and Mary from D. Abbey.

I see My Fair Lady in a bit and Taming tonight. We meet back tomorrow to discuss both.

Oh Ms Cait Sully, guess we won't call you about going up to the Valley this week. I had no idea Ashland started so early. I've only been there in August. Does it go year round now? Enjoy the heck out of it. I used to camp in that County Campground a lil ways outta town. Don't even know if its still there. Catch up with you when you get home.
I know so little about the theater, except I did see the opening of Hair when I was in college and saw all the requisite Broadway musicals since I went to school close to NYC. Mainly I just go for the enjoyment. I'm clueless when it comes to the intricacies. I need a mentor next time I go to Ashland.

Susan

PS. You sound like you are in "heaven"...said hello to your Moms house this morning.
