Amy Ross of local Bisbee AZ band, Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl, passed away. I am unsure of the circumstances of her passing.
Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl were Tucson folk, from Bisbee, in town nearly every week to preform at Plush or Delectables on 4th Ave... They were Tucson staples of excellent music. Amy played the piano/keyboard/guitar and her husband, Derrick, played guitar and I believe bass.
This news is shocking to our small S. AZ music community and we are taken aback at this sudden news, as are lovers of NMWG's music and Amy and Derrick, as human beings, in general.
This band holds a great and dear space within my heart, and the loved ones I got to share their live music with. And the loved one I shared their recorded music with outside a bar...
This video is of Amy and her band mate/husband/partner in crime, Derrick.
If you knew Amy or of her talents and funky spirit, you know this is a great and tremendous loss.
