"The artist Marina Abramovic did a 2010 performance art piece at the Museum of Modern Art, where she sat in a chair, and, one by one, people could sit opposite her and look into her eyes. It was a powerful experience even with strangers, but then her former love Ulay arrived without her knowledge. This video shows the moment she sees him. Apparently they had had a passionate love affair back in the 70s, but when they felt the relationship was fizzling, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting in the middle for a last hug and never seeing each other again. Here they are, meeting once again."

EDIT: Since discovering the singing clips, I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out WHY I was performing/singing.
It was a fund raiser following the Jan. 8th mass shooting here in Tucson, two weeks after the shooting ...

Singing is my passion, and yet I nearly stop breathing when it comes time to perform, esp my original songs. I feel so vulnerable... as though I'm sharing the words of my diary.
I never experience that issue when I do a theater production. I think with theater, there is a certain comfort level in being able to be a "different" person on stage and in front of an audience. I'll allow my characters to be vulnerable, because it's not me.
I think about the last production, in which my character is SO vulnerable, it was emotionally draining at times.

I wrote that song about losing my mother, and the years that pass, and the loss felt. (not to be depressing or anything!)
The second song is based off the ending of my favorite movie, Dr. Zhivago.
Facelift... I looked at my calendar ... I think I can make it work out. Flagstaff mid month... return to work for a week (or so) and THEN take an additional week off.
At least that's what I'm putting out to the Universe!
