Seven months later; but I finally took some pics of my neighbor's restored John Deere tractors:

John Deere General Purpose 1929 year model 23 of these were built. The tricycle design was copied to compete with Farmall.
gas,2 cylinder with horizontal pistons
John Deere B Model 1938 year model gas, 2 cylinder with horizontal pistons
John Deere 420 1958 year model, gas, 2 cylinder with vertical pistons
Check out the lights!

Some other toys of Mr. Livingston. All of these he restored himself. The Mack he uses to haul the tractors to shows and parades. This man is 74 years young tomorrow! He can drive the Mack like a Toyota Tacoma; if you have ever operated a Duplex transmission you would appreciate that fact.

My favorite:

I got to drive the Mack as soon as the paint dried. I wish I had a picture of when he hauled it in before the restoration, it came in on two trailers.

We used an old B Model for a pullout truck when logging; but it never looked like this one.

The old Ford is a work in progress. It has U.S. Army truck bed on it that is coming off for an original flatbed. The driver's seat is mounted on top of the gas tank. That is the way they did it in the 40's.

Shifting a duplex in an old B Model (this is a quad 20 speed vs duplex 10speed) but it's the same game. It's easier to shift without the clutch!

2 Tractors For Sale
Located in Rescue
$4,400 takes both tractors.
Massey Ferguson 40 with loader and box scraper -Runs GREAT-
Massey Ferguson 3165 stuck in gear and needs battery (I have not tried to fix it). On this tractor it is PROBABLY an easy fix (half a day or less).

We purchased these tractors in April for more than I'm asking. We did not buy a piece of property we were looking at so we no longer need them. My experience using them is limited because of the short time of ownership/property. Both are diesel. I have not tried to start the 3165 -needs a battery-. The 40 is a runner, it fires right up and runs smooth. Really, they just need to start being used. They look a bit rough because they've been sitting.

I'd like them to be gone by the end of the weekend.
Thanks.

^^ Now that's a pretty piece of metal. Those wheels remind me of a paddle steamer.

Two weeks in Michigan and Wisconsin almost tractored me out!

I know it says "No Passing Zone" but I got out-voted.
Well, to be honest it was a flat out veto.

But these two were pretty boss...

You can see this dude was jonesing big time! He is also, obviously, a connoisseur.

A fleet of Fords with some others mixed in, all from the same orchardist.

If you are sold on something, stick with it.

And a Ford is still cheaper than you can afford.

There's a good chance I know/knew the farm and/or owner of that rig, from maybe 20 years ago.
