Congratulations to Hans and Alex. An 8% improvement at this point is very impression.

I also can't help but point out that Eric Beck, who posted upthread, closes the loop on the history. Eric, I think, was the first to take speed climbing seriously: he and Frank Sacherer were the first to climb a Valley Grade VI in a day in 1964 or 1965 (?), the West Face of Sentinel, which was promptly reduced to a Grade V.
