"Florine and Honnold will take two warm-up runs on the Nose today and tomorrow. "
Uh, yeah, as a mere mortal, i can relate to that.
Where is the physical clock start and stop points on the route?

Second touching the Tree is the stop point. Start is go (starting the stopwatch) and leaving the ground I believe...

The start is the leader starting the 1st pitch of the Nose route, which is on a ledge a few hundred feet up either 4th class directly below, or the 1 pitch Pine Line route to the side.

I typically see it as the 5.10 pitch above the third class.
Be safe, dudes! Those 2 gave me and my mom a ride from Nutcrack to the village :) class acts, all the way!

So do they sit at the base and let everyone starting 5 days prior to them know what their plan is? How does that all work? Do climbers stop when they see them coming? What if I'm in mid pitch?

They are taking warm up runs weds/thurs so they'll get a chance to talk to most of the parties on the route. They'll also finish by 8:39AM so most folks will still be gearing up at that point. It would be cool to be up there and watch them fly past within a few minutes.

Hey K-man,
How about you do a beer a pitch (supertopo pitches) and keep up with them. It is only a beer about every 4.5 mins Some pitches might go fast others might linger.... I'd bet you $31 they win... (31 is the number of pitches according to Supertopo)
