1) Sonnie clearly had that thing wired.
2) What was with the bouldering pad?
3) Why was the young Bachar wearing Stannard's swami belt?

And then you have to get off the thing. I wonder if he did the full homage?

1. So what? I think if you wanted to make a tribute video having it wired is a good thing when the cameras are rolling.
2. So the ballcuppers don't scuff up their knees.
3. Artistic license of the filmmakers maybe. It's a great shot from Eldorado Canyon and probably cheaper to use compared to paying that other guy.

At least from everything I've ever heard about him, Sonnie seems down to Earth, honest and a VERY well rounded climber. John was a legend, but Sonnie ain't no punk...
Cobra Crack, Ambrosia, East Face monkey on gear, The Path, El Cap Free via The Prophet... he's no slouch e'rybody!

Being an alum from the JB era, it is good to see the torch being passed on.
JB was the man, cool as smooth jazz on 5.whatever free-solo way exposed.
He was so smooth on things, you could never tell where the crux was when you watched him and dream as he flashed it. And he did it WITHOUT a crash pad.
We won't forget. Nice Send Sonnie.

If he did the leap you KNOW they would have included it in the vid!

I can say for a fact that John B. would have been the first to tell Sonny that he did that climb proud and that he's the man. We had our time. The past is ours but the present belongs to Sonny. Rock on, dude! You the man.
But next time you do a vid, make sure the editor shows a couple frames of a neutral angle (looking straight on, in this instance) before cutting to the reverse shot, otherwise the screen direction gets queer because you've "crossed the line" without orienting the viewer. It's like shooting a NASCAR race right-to-left and then cutting to the pack entering a corner going left- to-right - makes it look like the race changed direction when we weren't looking.
But the footage, music and action were excellent.
