Tom Ripley from the Patricia Highsmith novels. He is one sick, sophisticated bastard. But somehow, you keep rooting for him to get out of whatever mess he's embroiled himself in. Good summer reading.
Apolobamba, you should try to make it down to the City then, too. At least during that Weekend. That's when I'm aiming for.
Seth...I no longer get TacoMails, It's hooked to my OLd Addy.

As for Villians, The Alien in Alien(haha!) Was pretty out there.
Wow, one track kill joy ^^^^. We got it already, attention whore. Please go repeat the same tired crap in another thread designated for such refuse. Thank you.
Stinks I say (under the guise of a light-hearted/ fun topic). All the more reason to ban this username too. In the real world weschrist and Rokjox would be way ahead of you in line (to be reinstated).
I guess people are getting to the bitter end of their day right now. Kovar's a cool guy whose "victim" communicated with him and to the rest of us he was okay with Kovar, no ill will taken. I like Weschrist too and Rokjox's ever-growing drunken rants are even missed. Take it up with the man behind the curtain if you like seeing people banned repeatedly over slight offenses if you so enjoy being a bitter toady.
Some can't handle a fun-spirited thread, gotta read their agendas and gripes into everything. Sad.

"kill joy" thats one for the books.

Point taken. I noticed before I lampooned Obama that nobody's joy was being killed when other political figures were brought up.
You gotta expect when the subject of 'villains' is brought up a political figure or two might be thrown into the mix.
Another poster who didn't like my lampoon insulted me with comparisons to Hitler and racists and homicidal hicks. How nice and fun-loving should I have gotten at that point?
Edit: I've got nothing against you Mr Bombz.Have a good trip.

What I did: Start one thread that got out of hand after four years of good contributions to the site. I've promised to keep it light and/or climbing related. I had also communicated with WBraun, no ill-will. I reinstated myself.
What they did: Hijack any thread they felt like and blow it up with inflammatory comments time after time. and I still love the sh#t out of roxie.
So Biotch, like I said I am not apologizing and if you want to cry to CMac, go for it. I'm past the point of caring since this ISN'T the real world.
While Boris Badinov, Natahsa Fatale, Fearless Leader, Mr. Big (Beeg?) and Snidely Whiplash are my favorites (as you can see, I'm a big Jay Ward fan), I think Dr. Doom of Marvel Comics fame deserves some props as well.
Hell ya.. It's funny. All of kings books have a connection to the gunslinger's world in one way or another. Have you read Hearts in Atlantis? The story is always deeper than you think
There was a dark hilarity in his face, and perhaps in his heart, too, you would think — and you would be right. It was the face of a hatefully happy man, a face that radiated a horrible handsome warmth, a face to make water glasses shatter in the hands of tired truck-stop waitresses, to make small children crash their trikes into board fences and then run wailing to their mommies with stake-shaped splinters sticking out of their knees. It was a face guaranteed to make barroom arguments over batting averages turn bloody.
I'm almost done with Song of Susannah, probably tonight (Susannah/Detta/Mia are about to have the kid) and will be moving on to the final book shortly. I've flown through the series in the last couple of months. Gripping stuff.
"The judge smiled. It is not necessary, he said, that the principals here be in possession of the facts concerning their case, for their acts will ultimately accommodate history with or without their understanding. But it is consistent with notions of right priniciple that these facts – to the extent that they can be readily made to do so – should find a repository in the witness of some third party. Sergeant Aguilar is just such a party and any slight to his office is but a secondary consideration when compared to divergences in that larger protocol exacted by the formal agenda of an absolute destiny. Words are things. The words he is in possession of he cannot be deprived of. Their authority transcends his ignorance of their meaning."
