Supertopo Spring Picnic in Boulder, Sat. May 26, 4:00 PM

Roy, Crimpie, and the rest of the Boulder crew will be there. This will be at Cathedral Park, which is the same picnic table we welcomed Crimpie to town at. Wow, that was all the way back in 2008!

Roy put up a ton of good beta with maps to find the location in that thread:

http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/585813/Crimpie-s-Welcome-to-Boulder-Picnic-Flagstaff-Mtn-May-4

Obviously some Flatirons or Flagstaff climbing would be in order earlier in the day. Note that you have to pay a parking fee to use the picnic site unless you are a Boulder County resident.

To reach Flagstaff Mountain, from Denver, take the Boulder Turnpike, Hwy. 36, into Boulder and exit at Baseline. At the bottom of the ramp turn left or west on Baseline and follow that uphill all the way into and up Flagstaff Mountain.

If you zero out your odometer at the first right hand turn at the bottom of Flagstaff, just at Gregory Canyon, the lost Gulch Overlook is 3.8 miles up the twisty road. Cathedral Park is 3.9 miles. (If you use the mile markers, both spots are between the fourth and fifth mile marker.)

The Flagstaff summit/amphitheater turnoff is 2.8 miles up. From there, keep an eye out for Lost Gulch on the right, and just after that on the right is Cathedral Park. --Very twisty all the way up.

Sounds like FUN!!!...

When I say I am "in", I generally end up bailing...

NOT going to say I am "in" and will play it by ear...

;-)

EDITED:

I hear it's being sponsored by "Da Brim"...

I can't bail on something I have not commited to...

Locker, you seem to have a committment issue. If you think something might be fun, commit and then you're committed. People who say they "might" attend an event rarely do, often to regret it latter. Committing gives people that extra incentive to get off their ass and actually do something.

In my deffense, climbing almost always comes first...

If I "Commit" to a get together and then get a call to go climbing...

FUK THE GET TOGETHER!!!...

Just the way it is...

and hanging out with a bunch of dudes really isn't my thing...

Now if there were MORE single ladies???...

FUK THE CLIMBING!!!...

;-)

EDITED:

also in my deffense...

Generally when I commit, I follow through...

These last few bailouts have had pretty good reasons...

Taking care of my 87yr old Mother being part of those reasons...

My own health issues also being part...

and a HUGE one is that I am an alcoholic and generally people are drinking and frankly it makes me uncomfortable...

Sort of "Selective Commitment issues"...

Ask my partners how many times I've bailed when I've commited to CLIMBING...

Not going to find too many...

I'm fairly certain I will be making it.

And not cuz of the pretty single women.

Looking forward to seeing Roy for the first time since the TarbusterFest at GordoFestRancho
