I love Mexican calendars and just got this one in Tucson.
Beautiful bit of mountain mythology.
I have eaten Rositas delicious food for more than four decades now.

I'm glad you started this thread.
I too love Jesus Helguera's iconic Mexican art and the legends of the famous Mexican Volcanoes and the beautiful Mexican, Native, and Spanish women he depicts.
I really enjoyed soloing Popo back in 1988 with another climbing buddy from San Diego and quickly went up the NE glacier route and came down the typical easier East side route. Seeing the massive summit crater smoldering was an experience. The massive climbing refugio and dorm near the base of Popo was awesome. Really great nice people too.
I recall being in the room changing and it was a mixed company dorm. Anyway, I'm in there changing and then this really pretty European woman in her 20s comes in to her bunk area and wips off her top with full exposure and then quickly gets dressed right in front of me. Holy mackerel. What could I do? I was stunned with a smile on my face. I'll never forget that.
A few years later Popo starts erupting (no pun intended) . . .
I wasn't paragliding yet back in 1988, but now I would love to go back down and climb/fly Popo (when it calms back down), Izta, and Orizaba. Then go to the Mexican caribbean and dive Cozumel (again) and the cenotes of the Yucatan (again). That would be the perfect adventure/vacation. I spent my Honeymoon diving these awesome locations. It was wonderful and romantic.

Interestingly enough North American alpinism likely got its start right here on Popocatepetl!

Thanks Steve, It makes my ascent seem rather prosaic. To truly repeat the first ascent you need to climb while it's erupting.
