The food is more than fine for the price/location. A cold beer on the lawn on a summer night after a day in TM--maybe some music--there are worse things. Some take their too cool for school thing a little too seriously.

The Mobil kids know how to fu'kin party!! Their early season party this last year was one of the most memorable of the summer for sure! Post office Mike DJ'd. Was anybody else in attendance that night. Theres alot more going on at the Mobil than overpriced food..

It's just another gas station, with a couple of extras. Fine place, but praise?
Not quite. You ever been to Ely?

Never understood the big deal. Food was fine but expensive. I remember sitting there eating and watching the owner (or manager) walking around killing flies on the tables with a fly swatter and not wiping the tables. Sure I expect that in Mammoth but not near Lee Vining.

I remember being at the Mobil one summer evening in 09' . We had climbed Cathedral that day, and stopped in after for a beer . The Adam Burns band was playing a Michael Jackson song, maybe Billie Jean . Turns out it was a tribute to MJ , who had died earlier that day. The Mobil was a weird place to step into a world without Michael Jackson ... and now we have lost Whitney :(

That was the year I first became aware of climbers in full-on winnebagos in the Lodge lot.
On one occasion Cilley and I walked between two such rigs and he muttered,"Climbers have way more money than they used to," Not that either of us, did...

The food is pricey but good, the atmosphere is fun and there is usually a mixture of people there. Definitely not all yuppies. Some aging hipsters, biker folk etc.

No windshield washer soap does seem like a glaring oversight, but after a five hour drive from the Bay Area, I'm pretty stoked to pull in there and get some grub and a beer before heading to the hot springs to throw out a bag..

That place could be a lot worse. Heck, I saw a wedding happening there once, them couldn't a been yuptuals...

Flame on..

I finally tried those fish tacos at the Mobil. Kinda bad, really. Back to the Mono Cone.

seems like every time i drive through Bridgeport EVERYTHING is closed. So you either eat in LV (I like Nicely's too) or get hosed and wait to eat in SLT.

Yup...Mono Cone was already closed, Mobil was overrun, and Nicelys was full of Euro-peons, big line out front. Snuck in the side door...
