what, you don't like the e-coli lettuce in the steak cesear?

it was the high elevation creating internal pressure,

not the food,

so the guy who burned up, is he ok now?

gas was cheaper than the chevron but i could not get the bugs off the car due to a seemingly lackluster approach to windshield water, wtf, over?

i drop 20 bucks for food and 40 for gas but they can't spring for $0.02 worth of soap, jus sayin,

the food at that mobile station is over rated and expensive.

also, that station is an example of development on the outskirts that ultimately should be avoided to preserve the fabric of our towns

Musta driven by that place no fewer than 100 times - between home (Mammoth) and the Meadows/Valley . . . and the only time we stopped was at 3am for their 24 hr gas pumps. Always seemed to be in just the wrong place. . . I mean, on the way in, yer hyper to GO and on the way out. . . ummmmm. . .yer hyper to go, too.

Never felt like I was missin' much, I guess.

it is nice to see a place like the deli when most towns like that have nuthin to offer but fat chicks and meth heads,

i mean you won't see a place like that in yucca valley,

just a cornacopia of bad fruit,

Heh. The place has got something going for it, it's either complete adulation or acrimony.

I'm going to give a shout out to Pop's place in Bridgeport while we're talking East side. Pop doesn't gouge you on price, and you get a whole mess of decent food without waiting a half hour just to order. And you got the hot springs only minutes away!

The food is more than fine for the price/location. A cold beer on the lawn on a summer night after a day in TM--maybe some music--there are worse things. Some take their too cool for school thing a little too seriously.

It's true, some are just not prostrating themselves before the ballyhooed deli hard enough. I'm sure their experience of the sierras will be tacky and cheap at best.

The Mobil kids know how to fu'kin party!! Their early season party this last year was one of the most memorable of the summer for sure! Post office Mike DJ'd. Was anybody else in attendance that night. Theres alot more going on at the Mobil than overpriced food..

It's just another gas station, with a couple of extras. Fine place, but praise?
Not quite. You ever been to Ely?

Never understood the big deal. Food was fine but expensive. I remember sitting there eating and watching the owner (or manager) walking around killing flies on the tables with a fly swatter and not wiping the tables. Sure I expect that in Mammoth but not near Lee Vining.

I remember being at the Mobil one summer evening in 09' . We had climbed Cathedral that day, and stopped in after for a beer . The Adam Burns band was playing a Michael Jackson song, maybe Billie Jean . Turns out it was a tribute to MJ , who had died earlier that day. The Mobil was a weird place to step into a world without Michael Jackson ... and now we have lost Whitney :(

Nah. Too many climbers were still driving junkers then.

I think it might correlate with lycra and sport climbing.
